Self Image vs Self Esteem

Do you have a bad self-image but have high self-esteem? Is that possible??? What yall think??

I personally have a horrible self-image but I don't think I have self-esteem issues. I love me some me and I know i've come along ways but when a mofo call me "sexy" I look at them upside they head or when a mofo wants to touch me again its an upside they head look. However I still feel like i'm the shid and I still think if you put me in the room w/ Halle Berry i'd walk out w/ her hand in marriage.

I equate it to this....

A nice car w/ rims but a bad engine...
A pretty woman w/ bad breathe
A 2500 sq foot house w/ no furniture

Is this something anyone else deals w/?

I have a question:  is it possible for a high self-esteem be a mask to overcompensate for a low self image?

You posed the exact same question I had.

It has been my experience that those who have the lowest self esteem/self doubt are the biggest shiot talkers in the "all that crew."  ****This is no reference to any one particular person either--just a generalized statement.*****

Self esteem and self image go hand and hand--there is only over-compensation in the mouth to make up for what the mind is really thinking.

I don't think so....b/c you can have a low self image and still feel good about who are as a person tottaly. I'm excited about who I am and where i'm going and where i've come from. I just don't like my "body" and its CURRENT state and I realize that its going to take more time and dedication to change that. so there isn't and over compensating for me.

Now you on the other hand are stuck in a horrible place....50 y/o still doing hoe shid...how about you go to the back of the shed and fix that.....i'm just saying...you got bytch qualities and those can't be fixed

And you knew i'd say that so don't act like I would change bruh....

Why do you post if you truly do not wish for an intelligent response?  D-actually made a really good point.

I have seen many who present an overly inflated sense of self-love...sometime sickenly so to the outside world... but subconsciously they don't feel like they are worth shiott.

And those with high self esteem usually rarely feel the need to point out what they consider inadequacies in others...
