CHICAGO PEOPLE NEED HELP PLEASE

My girls and I will be in Chicago June 19 and we need some advice on the best places to go.  We will be their most of the weekend.  We need advice on where to stay, shop, eat, and have fun. Thanks in advance for you response.

Are you planning on sightseeing, shopping, etc.? Will you have a car? You looking to stay in the downtown area (expensive...but worth every dime)...

We will be there just to have fun and shop.  It is four of us we are splitting the cost so expensive is fine. We will have a car.

The Chi-town BAF connection is planning a dinner and that is one of the weekends we are looking at (6/20).

Hotels I would recommend in the downtown area:

Renaissance (located at State and Wacker Dr.)
Courtyard by Marriott (located at State and Illinois)
Marriott (located on the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Ave.)

All of these hotels are located near great stores (Bloomingdales, Macy's, Water Tower Place, Nordstrom); movie theaters; restaurants (Bandera's (great food), Cheesecake Factory, Grand Lux Cafe, Lawry's Steakhouse (old school, but great food). 

Since you will have a car...I would also suggest venturing out to Oakbrook Shopping Center - same types of stores...but other stuff there as well.  If you don't mind staying outside the downtown area, Oakbrook and Oakbrook Terrace also offer great hotels (Marriott, Hyatt, Courtyard) and they are a little cheaper.  You can always drive downtown to sightsee, if that's what you want to do.

Let me also tell you - PARKING DOWNTOWN IS EXPENSIVE!
