should i be concerned?
My surgery is sceduled for May 6th, exactly a week from today. I am beginning to get really nervous/scared and wondering if I should go through with this. I am starting to unrationalize my decision in my mind like....im only 250 which is considered a lightweight so do I really need to do this or maybe there is another diet I havent tried or what if I gave a past diet another go but put a little more effort into it. Also, the fact that I have been on a high protein diet for the past 2 days (and will continue until 2 days pre-op when I switch to clear liquids ) and am required to drink 2 protein drinks a day..which taste horrible and make me gag...with only one sensible meal is getting to me.
I guess my question is..should I postpone my surgery or does everyone have doubts?

Its natural to be afraid and to have doubts; this is a big step you're taking and you wouldn't be human if you didn't have some emotions concerned, whether it be excitement or anxiety.
Relax, babe. You'll be fine. And good luck with that. :)

hey boogie down. gurl i was 204 on the table, but i'd been over 200 for 21 years with dresses in the closet that were for a size i kept tryina make it down to. could you get down 80 pounds by yourself? absolutely? can you keep it off forever by yourself? pause for dramatic effect. yeah, me neither. whatever you decide is the right decision for you but rest assured and have zero regret. i'm rootin for ya sis!
You're nervous. You're anxious. You're uncertain. That's normal.
HOWEVER
* I * wouldn't go into the OR with doubts. If you're having doubts about protein and liquids, you may need to reassess the surgery. This routine will be an important fixture in your life. Oh yeah, "sensible meals" will not be an option for quite some time after surgery.
Air your concerns with your psychiatrist. Fully tell him what's going on in your head and let him help you determine if this is indeed the next step in your journey. Good luck!

I was 216 on the table !
My highest was 300 in 2004 !
I have yo yo'd for the last 30 years !
It was time for me to have some maintenance at last !
The final decision is yours, however, I think most do have doubts the closer you get to your surgery day !

I'm a newbie so I know how you're feeling right now. Yes the protein drinks suck and it's hard to change your habits but.....think about your health and how happy you'll be once you start losing the weight.
I still struggle on a daily basis but baby when I get on that scale and the pounds are dropping, I feel so much better!!!
It's going to be rough for a little while but YOU CAN DO IT!!
