Chickens aren't the cleanest animals in the world.  We used to raise them and I have seen with my own eyes chickens peck flies off a pile of poop and eat them.  We fed our chicken store bought laying mash and they also ate table scraps, so they weren't starved or anything.  You just can't predict what an animal is going to ingest once something gets in its environment. 

Personally, I don't worry about that kind of stuff.   It's all protein as far as I'm concerned.  I eat catfish and they're bottom feeders.  I'll continue to eat pork too.

I think it all really comes down to preferences...when its all said and done.  I was chatting with Lee the other night and she was telling me about some of the diets in other parts of the world.  Shoot...I would take chicken, pork and anything else we have here over some of the so called delicacies eaten by other cultures.(various rims off the animal asses...LOL!, I'll add rats, snakes, grubs, worms, roaches etc.. etc....that I have seen on the Discovery Channel..but to each his own.

This has been a great thread.   When I go home I'll still be chuckling over the mental image of a little piglet coughing and popping Hall's Mentholyptus.

I just read that the Egyptian government has ordered a mass killing of pigs and they haven't even had a single case of this flu in their country.  Talk about people getting paranoid...
