or is Pork just not looking and tasting the same with this whole Swine Flu incident going on. It was a nice day yesterday....my mom was off and she decided to grill BBQ Pork Ribs and Chicken....as I was looking at the Ribs smoldering on the grill...all I could visualize was this pig looking at me coughing...LOL! I am curious to get some feedback from folks that are or used to be vegetarians. How did you make the adjustment from a meat eater to a vegan or vegetarian? I mean I tried the detox for two days and was crying to get out. Now I do know some overweight or ex overweight vegetarians...so I know that there are some out there. As a previous meat eater...what made you decide to make this change?
It was hard the first two weeks - passing up Burger King and crying cause I can't be a cougar with Jr. no mo - Whopper Jr that is.....
BUT - I have been working on a collection of replacement recipes - like the turkey meatloaf I made this weekend - MAN that is good - and my chicken enchiladas. Tonight I am going to figure out some fish to eat. I am surprised that I am not still feening and missing it - but I really am not.
The key is to make whatever you ARE still eating appealing and keep the variety going. Which is hard if you are programmed for other things - it's a very conscious effort to think of other things.

Growing up in the South...I have eaten pork my whole life....I gave up chitterlings and pig feet about 10 years ago..saw all my family dealing with the high blood pressure....but every now and then I still feen for them with some good old hot sauce....bet I got folks ready to

My life is like McDonalds....I'm Lovin It
Yes...that was very helpful....never thought about there being anti-meat websites out there. I imagine it would do me good to google anti-pork and go from there. I really want to eliminate the pork...as a first step...I think a lot has to do with the preservatives and the fat content. I can't eat a rib and not the fat....seems to defeat the purpose...yet again I really want to get the weight down...so its really not a good thing for me right now. Thanks for posting.
A bag leftover from some potato chips - Chomp, chomp, chomp.
A quarter from my pocket... - Chomp, chomp, chomp.
A bottle top from off of the ground... - Chomp, chomp, chomp.
A bullet from my cousin's 9mm... - Chomp, chomp, chomp.
My point is I don't understand how farmers can feed these animals garbage (**** we wouldn't even eat) and consumers will turn around and say that pork is one of the best tasting foods they've ever eaten. I'm a software engineer and one of the first lessons that I've learned is GIGO - Garbage In; Garbage Out!
Stop eating garbage! Say no to pork.
Pass me the ketchup for this porkchop sammich, bruh.
