my best friend

Hey Guys,
I haven't been ignoring you all, I lost my best friend Sunday a week ago and I am really having a hard time dealing with it.  She was at times my best friend, at times she was my lil sister, and other times she was my daughter. As a minister and pastor I always avoided funerals. Well she made me eat my words and I spoke at her funeral and officiated her graveside service. I guess when you love someone, you go the extra mile. When it doesn't hurt so much then I will be back but for now I just got to spend some time alone with God. Take care and keep on letting the pounds melt away.

Many prayers for you, Rev.  BTW...I have a question...how do you avoid funerals, as a minister and pastor?  I'm an ordained deacon and I'll tell you - I attend MANY funerals...TOO MANY TO MENTION!

I pastored a very unique church. It was just for kids. My ministry focus is on kids. While pastoring I didn't lose any children. Praise God for that, besides there is always someone willing to do a service.

I am sorry to hear about this place in your journey.  I know that it is hard to deal with.  I am happy you posted it because it helped put somethings in perspective for me and a friendship that I trying to understand.....
At any rate praying for you to continue your journey and your memories of your friend will be like fresh picked flowers.
Interesting enough....I felt myself in this post.  Avoiding funerals as a minister and Pastor I have managed for these 9 years to do the same.  I did have to attend my mothers and grandmothers....only because I did not want to feel the wrath of my family..."uniques ministries"  there is a place for all of us.

I feel really bad that you lost your bestfriend.  But I know you'll be back on your feet before you know it.  And when you do get back on your feet, you'll probably wanna make me a peach cobbler or a nice big pound cake or something.
