Everyday gets a little better. Walking helps and make sure you stay hydrated.  Some days are going to be better than others. Someone said in a post take it one day at a time

Be patient, listen to your body and give it a couple of days and sip sip sip your water and other fluids.  Each day should get better than the one before.  Throughout the day if you feel like it take some mini walks outside or inside.  Peace & Blessings to you & you are a warrior :)

Baby step it  until you are able to build up your strenght............this early out no one expects you to be walking far or downing a gallon of water or even a full eight ounce of protein.  The key is to try and do as much as you can handle everyday .  For instance walk but  in 5 to 10 min intervals .....for your liquids the only thing you can do is sip sip sip ....keep at bottle of water with you at all times and sip whenever you think you can handle some more.     A few months from now the discomfort will be just a memory......but the eating changes those are for life

Sounds like you had an open procedure.  Mine was too, and I felt like death warmed over.  Those pain meds became my best friend.  The trick is to take the pain meds before you feel the pain, so it works better.
You will feel better soon, be patient....you can do it!

You will start feeling better. The first 2 weeks are hell in my opinion.  But one day, you will just wake up and the pain will be gone.  Take it easy the first couple of weeks. It's your mind playing tricks on you.  Your body wants you to take it easy.  I felt like crap the first month because I refused to follow my own advice. I was in the mall on Christmas even standing in line for an hour and was so damn exhausted.  Subsequently, I got kicked out of a Game Stop for throwing some games at the manager( but he had it coming).  Be kind to your body, it has been through a lot.
