I personally plan on widening my dating pool to include all races except Asians. And I don't care who has what to say about it.

This is making me laugh....Asian men are the only ones I haven't been able to tap into...yet

I do not know if you are just asking this question in general but this board is welcoming of all races. There are several other races on this forum. Lately many of them have not been posting due to illness and one, that I know of, is going through some personal issues. I am sure that your friend will be welcomed to seek information here.

I cannot answer this question because I could care less who dates who. I do not stare or care. To each it's own...My father's last name is Castro and he is hispanic of some sort...I know back women who date white men and vice versa and I have no care about...I am engaged to a strong black man and if it was a strong white man it would not matter either...I have never dated someone of any other race but Black and it is just because the opportunity never presented itself...If a few years down the line my brother dated women of any color I would care less as long as it is not someone of his own sex...

My most recent relationship was with a white man, and though it did not last, I learned a lot from the experience. Before him ,  I was not open to dating anyone other that back or hispanic, but I know now that love has no color boundaries and you can find common ground with anyone regardless of race.  I feel as though I gave myself more ground by becoming involved with him, because now the possibilities for my soulmate is not just limited to a black man.

Edited to add:

BTW, I look at black men totally different now after I dated a white man.  Never thought it would happen to me, but it did.

No, I do not mind.  I'm just not as heavily attracted to them as before.  I find myself doing more double takes at other races.  I guess black men just aren't my 'prefernce' anymore.  Now it's possible that I was just dating the wrong guys, but I just saw a different kind of man while I was dating outside of my race.

Thanks for answering but I just hate when a few people mess it up for everybody...If I judged who I dated based on th race of men I dated previously, I would not have ever met my fiance' and now I could not imagine my life without him. And trust me I had my share of horrible black men but there are good ones out there and good men of all colors. You might date 3 bad white men and the 4th is the one...I am sure you know that...But hey to each its own.

Honestly, when I first met my ex, I didn't even know he was interested in me like that, someone else said in this post that some black women assume that other races are not attracted to them like that, and I thought the same way.  I had never considered dating a white man before I met him, but I'm glad I gave him a chance.  He just treated me different, he was more of a gentleman, his work ethic was sound, and he had values.  He didn't come across as a player, wasn't into games, and had a lot of pride in his culture, (he's Irish) and is commited to his children.  I have dated plenty of black men, and I get what you're saying, but I haven't met one that has treated me the way he did. Even though we chose to be apart for other reasons, he opened my eyes to dating outside of my race, because before him, I'd damn near given up, lol.

I feel you and it seems as if after the civil rights movement many black men lost their identity, well they never really had one to begin with, my grandfather was a "g" and so is 2 of his 3 sons...but they are good men and providers. I am teaching my brother otherwise. It is a sad situation but it is a reality. I do not know how I would move on without my spouse. I probably would be single forever without him (probably not but that is how it feels)...I to never felt that other races were attracted to me but while single and in college and on AOL many white men made strong advances towards me but I brushed it off. I feel the same way about my man that you feel about your ex and no other man can amount to that whether black, white, etc.
