QUESTION FOR THE VETS AND NEWBIES
I hear you girl...how you spend your first 6 months of WLS will pretty much dictate how the rest of your journey will go.
I was sick and tired of eating the same stuff ova and ova again but I stuck it out...I have to say I have done very well! I still drink protein shakes every morning...I don't excercise never did..lol I know shame on me...but I my eating is on point, because I started early
To this day I still eat VERY little amounts bread, pasta and very very little fried food
Listen to your nurses and NUT early on..it pays off!
Folks eat a lot of stuff cause there is no dumping and wonder why they plateau
I eat my bread I won't lie but I said in teh beginning that I would give up teh sweets soda and mac&cheese but leave my damn bread alone! So I get whole wheat multigrain which gives me protein and keep it moving! but what he bible say train a child in the right way and they will never depart from it"? if u start off good even if u stray u know how to get back on track
Someone said today that she thinks this new group is younger and immature...I think she has a point...lol
Sooo not the truth, I am 24 and I have been making the right choices since I was in the pre-op classes. I work out five days a week, 1 to 2 hours a day and I also eat right although the only foods I really eat are chicken, fish, protein(really wouldn't call it food..lol). I had the surgery in sept of 08'. I have went from 371 to 200, I think it's all about the person and how commited they are young or not.
Meekie,
You know your my buddy, I just want to let you know that you have to try hard not to eat those foods that will sabbotage this whole wls thing for you. I played around with different types of recipes to find what works for me. Some of it made my ass gag, and some stuff was oh so good. I have a little recipe book that I have been using to for the wls patient, I could give you some of those recipes to see if it works.
On the other hand I HAVE A QUESTION!!
My pouch is still so small that I really only get in my protein. I know I need the veggies and stuff, but I don't want to push my self so much so that I over stuff. Do you think I should at least at dinner eat half protein and try and make room for the veggies. I was figuring that I get alot of the nutrients from veggies from the vitamins I take is that right?
You are really trying to take me there aren't you?
First off I am sure mac cheese, rice and alfredo were NO WHERE on the menu planner from your NUT...Now when you go to your 2 month appt and tell your nurse about what you have been eating, let me know what they have to say.
They will probably say the same thing we just said...lol
LMFAOOOOOOO??? I SEE YOU KINDA SENSITIVE TOO RIGHT. U STILL TALKING ABOUT THIS???
DID I VER SAY IT WAS OK OR DID I ASK A QUESTION????? IF U WERENT GOING TO ANSWER IT,THEN YOUR POST WASNT NECESSARY. BUT AGAIN THANKS!!!!!
OH AND BTW,MY APPT IS TOMORROW AND I'LL BE HONEST WITH THE NUT. I DIDNT ASK FOR APPROVAL OF WHAT I ATE,I LISTED WHAT I WAS EATING!!!! I KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG HENCE THE SMILEYS
HAVE FUN ENTERTAINING THIS I SHALL NOT ENTERTAIN, I SAID WHAT I HAD TO SAY.....AGAIN,GOOD DAY!!!!

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions! I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

At 6 weeks I was able to bring back all of my foods into my diet within moderation except for fried foods and sweets. However I found I couldn't get enough of those foods in and still hit 60 oz's of protein so those things were basically snacks and lived off of the shakes.
