What is the best products to use that are reasonable in price? I am looking for a product to give my curls and waves a more define look.  Take away some of the frizz if you know what I mean. I tried carols daughter hair milk before but it made my hair feel kind of stiff.  It did work but was too pricey.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I am also looking for a good moisturizer.

For a moisturizer I use a combination of pantene( the one in the brown bottle) and lustra Shea Butter Cholestrol.  I mix them and let them set with a plastic cap for an hour.
I like Sebastian WET to hold my curls.

I am natural and I have so much different crap I use on my hair it's ridiculous.   I don't have a clue what to do with hair.    I use this stuff from hair oil.com  hair line essential cream and this curl stuff called Gold that someone told me about on here.

With all this running my hair is wet 24 7

I know what you mean Lee, I went through so many products before finding out what worked best for me.  I found the few I named in my response work best for me, leaving me with soft, defined curls with a little shine.  Not greasy, oily, or crunchy.  I'm not a product junky, no more!

Hi Highly Favored,

I find that some of the best product for defining curls w/o the greasy or oily look are products that aren't "black" products.  I have always used Star Lacio Lacio for defining curls (Sickbay.biz) and Samy big curls (at Walgreens).  But to tame my curls I start at keeping it conditioned.  I use Yes to Carrots Mud Conditioner as my "shampoo' because I no-poo/co-wash.   For my deep conditioner I use Star Lacio Lacio Intensive Conditioner. The longer your curls get and if you keep them conditioned the less frizz you will experience.  Carol's daughter did nothing for me but make my hair look greasy and was way to expensive.  I use tea tree oil for my scalp.  I go through stages of going natural, growing it long, cutting it off, and starting over again for years.  I love my big curls but love it when it's short because you get the cute curly cues, lol.  I hope this helps.

I use Carol's Daughter products: Healthy Hair Butter, Some of Marguerite's Magic, Hair Elixir, and Hair Milk.  Also, some of the leave-in conditioners.  I've also used products by Oyin  (LOVE THEM!), but their turnaround takes too long, IMHO.

Looking at your hair, you'd probably do well with Miss Jessie's products.  (ETA: They're not cheap though!)  I've tried them, but my hair texture is much too coarse to really benefit from them.

Just a thought...

I shampoo my hair with Cream of Nature and moisturize it with hand lotion (whatever's on sale).   While it's still damp, I massage in a just little bit of styling gel and bru**** into waves.

I use Miss Jessie's Baby Buttercreme for a moisturizer or DevaCurl's Set It Free moisture lock.
It just depends on how I'm feeling that day.  I've also used Miss Jessie's Curly meringue.  Haven't used the curly pudding yet.

When I flat iron my hair I use some kind of anti humidity gel and a hair serum before I use my Maxiglide.  The Maxiglide works really well on natural hair.  I thought the steam might make my hair fizzy but it doesn't.
