Just Checking In! How is everyone?

Hey Everyone!   I have been thinking about a lot of you, and took a few to sit down and drop everyone a quick hello.  I hope this post finds everyone well?   As always, I am extremely BUSY- never have time to breathe- but most certainly enjoying life.  It is so very hard for me to believe that the time has flown so quickly.  It will be five years in August that I had my Gastric bypass and two years since the revision.  The revision was the BEST THING I HAVE done besides taking th gastric bypass plunge.   Craig is also doing very well with his- He hit his two year mark in March with his procedure-  He is still hanging tough- but then men NEVER have a problem do they?
I am still going strong with Girl Scouts- my troop has grown to 72 girls ranging in age 5-17.  I of course am still on the archive and history committee with the Girl Scout council..Still am the service unit cookie chair- as well as PTSA president of my son's school, band communications chair, and the list goes on and on....   I was recently "liberated" from my job after 21 years- the good news is I have 43 weeks of severance, and benefits which takes me through February.  I have my 401K, pension from when I was MCI (which I get at 100%,) 100% bonus and my five weeks of vacation paid out-   Many folks would be bummed, but me, I am ok with it- this now gives me an opportunity to pursue what I really want which is to work with the youth in my community- I am in the final stages of a proposal to have a youth enrichment program in place- Please Keep your fingers crossed as it looks like this non-profit is going to take off- if so, I will be in 7th heaven.

Ok Health wise- well you know me, never a dull moment.

I was feelig on cloud nine for a few months- almost 7 when all the sudden things took a twist-  I finally found out that I have a ventral hernia which has been giving me HOLY HELL (believe it or not the vomiting is back-however I am now down to 175) and so in June I will have surgery to remove it- While in there I am taking the plunge and having plastics done.  My Panni is covered by Insurance, and while I am at it, I will also be having arm and breast lifts courtesy of Dr. Fripp-  I wanted to do the thighs and just be in Mega pain all at one time- but Dr. Fripp advised I would be under for 5 hours as it is and she did not want to take the risk- Since she is the expert, I guess I better listen.   I am excited, as this is almost the final phase of this journey- It has been a LONG TIME COMING!
I am not sure what is going on with many of you- I do have a facebook page, and a few folks contact me that way- Hope everyone is well, and just know I think of you all often!  Hit me up and tell me whats happening your way!!

Hey Cookie!

I understand you have a Birthday coming up so Early Happy and enjoy it!  Did not know you were back in Georgia, when did you guys move?  last time we spoke you were talking about moving, but it had not yet happened.

All is well with my family- I posted some recent pictures- I have Craig and Kelli at this years Father daughter and Brandon with his "friend" at the Valentines day dance.

We gave Kelli a year off from surgeries- she was really overwhelmed and asked us to PLEASE give her break-  Well the year is up and we are about to pursue it again- It has to be done-

Other than being 16 (and Brandon being 13) she is doing relatively well-

Hope all is well with your family?  I have to catch up!

Nice to know there are some old tymers still on the board- I don't know who half of these folks are- (LOL)

The kids are fince, just growing up too fast- One minute they were babies and now they are young adults- simply amazing-

You know i was being silly with the Garden thing- But seriously I did plant it, and it looks great.  Last year I did the pot thing which was ok, but limited the area for which items could expand.

No I am not one of those be out in the dirt kind of women- but I did get a tad bit of enjoyment building that and planting- We all kicked in and enjoyed it.

What is going on your way??

Denise

So Blessed!

I hope all your dreams come true, Denise.

BTW, thanks for those gardening tips you sent!  Coincidentally I had been doing some research on how we could grow some food this summer.  I was particularly interested in the idea of hanging upside down planters because we don't have any patio space.  I'm thinking about trying my hand at making a couple of them when I get some free time.
