Getting Rid of Old Clothes

Good Friday morning Fam,

When you grew too small for your clothes, at what point did you get rid of them - or have you?

If so, did you donate them or sell them?

If not, why are you still hanging on to them?

As for me, I'm quick to give clothes away that I've gotten too fat for.  Maybe that's my way of choosing to not be reminded of how big I've gotten.  But, now that I'm growing too small for my clothing, I have a hard time parting with it.  I have 2 big bags of clothes already to drop off at Goodwill.  Needless to say, I'm hesitant, like "What if this WLS doesn't stick and I need those clothes again!?"

Am I being irrational in my thinking?

I did the consignment store thing - they have one here that specializes in Plus Sizes.

The only thing was when I brought the clothes in - homegirl made a comment insinuating that the clothes COULDN'T have been mine!  Like I robbed a fat chick!  LMAOOOO

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

Morning Woo,

I've been giving my clothes away like never before. I have a bag for folks I know can fit them and then a bag for the salvation army. I decided not to hang on to them because mentally I keep telling myself...I'll never be that size again but like you a piece of me wonders.............should I give everything away??? I said the heck with it - this will be my motivation to keep trying to lose weight cause I won't have anything to wear.

Also, I was going to sell my clothes originally cause I had a ton of nice stuff but decided to give it away. Then, one of my friends that had WLS gave me a huge bag of stuff she couldn't fit any more.

~ what comes around goes around! Have a great weekend!
When nothing else could help................LOVE lifted me!!!!

I'm donating my business clothers to a women shelter. They love to get plus sizes since they cost so much. My every day clothes am going to just give to goodwill. I'm just waiting to move down one more size (old clothes are 22/24 and I'm in 18/20) once I get to 16/18 then I'll give everything away and hopes to buy new.

Sounds like a plan!  I like the womens shelter idea... Lord knows it's hard to find decent professional wear for reasonable price.  God bless you for your generosity, Sis.
