Vets - let's share with the newbies - what could you have done better?
Figured we could walk down memory lane together - heck, i might consider this cardio! LOL
What do you wish you had done better from your early WLS days? Now that we have been walking this walk for a couple years - we have the benefit of hindsight.
*I* wish I had not started eating sugar as soon as I did. I dump - but I have found that I can tolerate a certain amount. Over time, I have gotten myself into overeating trouble because of it.
So - what do you wish had done better?

I wish I had not bumped exercise out of the equation from the jump....I thought that I would lose the weight regardless.......NOT!!!!
Second....I wish I had realized sooner that the mental components is much more an issue than the physical. In other words....just because your body might not let you eat something...does not mean that you will not try every way you can to get around it....and sneak that food in. Must change your mindset and think of food for nutritional purposes...rather than a coping or pleasure seeking mechanism.

Good Afternoon MM..
NO IFs ANDs OR BUTs about it, had I stuck to the plan and followed the rules, I would be at goal today!!!!!
IN other words, just because you can tolerate it, DOESN'T mean eat it!!!! The OLD habits will resurface unless you are super women or super man! So FOLLOW THE RULES.... They can NOT hurt....
Had I exercised and ATE right during the honeymoon period (my honeymoon period ONLY lasted for 7-8 months).... I'd be much better off. It's a killer trying to get these last 30 pounds off (without the pounds just melting, that is)... But IT IS WHAT IT IS..... No one to blame but me....

Start eating correct at the beginning, that way it wouldn't ba a struggle on down the line.
I was a good girl and stuck to the doctors orders the first year, and Yes I did make it to my doctors goal.
However, I was one of those who can eat whatever I want and STILL lose the weight, until that 3 mark year hit!!
I always dumped and HATE, I ever start introducing sugar in my diet, by being sugar free and fat free stuff, in my opinion it is ONLY leading you up for failure.

From day one I should have had professional help mind wise for at least 6 months,I lost the weight but this old brain of mine was still greedy and I still am but trying hard to work on it.I did stay off of soda and I still do not drink them, soda seems to put on pds. for me..I found out I could do sweets because my first year I stayed away and I wish I had never started..Please,Please Exercise!!!! I hate it. What ever your plan is continue to stay on it to succeed, take it from an oldie but goodie. The work is so hard if you get comfortable and go back to your old self. Please stay on task with your Doctor and Nutritionist. and you will definitely be so proud of yourself.
