Too big to fit in an Airplane seat!
My mouth fell open when I heard this because Ive been that person!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this right???? Is there a better solution????
If they make bigger seats, they can accomodate fewer ppl. With fewer ppl, their revenue drops, UNLESS they raise fares. :(
"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer." Plutach. Not true, for there are always more worlds to conquer.

I have been on both sides of this fence. As the big person, it hurts. I want to travel but can't afford two seats and they won't make an accomodation for me - does that mean I have to travel by car or other means all the time? that sucks!!!
As the average size person getting impeded on in my seat - I am PISSED!! I paid for all my seat and have to share it with someone who didn't share my expense for the damn seat!
I think there is possible middle ground - theoretically large folk don't expect toyota prius' to be make to accomodate them - they buy a suitable car. Airlines should create seating that would accomodate and charge accordingly - but not two seats when an extra half seat or slightly less would serve the need.
RHONDA - bring the caddy by!!!!

Let me give you some insight on this topic from 2 former fat girls that travel the world quite a bit.
Becca who stands a whoppin 4'9" 10 on good days weighed 361 pounds at her heaviest which is super huge on someone that short. Well there were many years that when we would fly she would get the window seat and I would get the seat next to her and half of her body would be on top of me which made me so sore I would literally have to take pain pills after the flight. There has been times when we were told we had to buy 4 tickets, 2 for each of us and that is when our traveling slowed down.
I can totally understand why a thin person would not want a really fat person sitting next to them because it is uncomfortable, and some fat people stank. They flop all over you and because you have to tense your body to try to escape being totally engulfed in their fat rolls you end up being in pain while they are sleep and snoring in your ear.
I think fat people should have to buy two seats for their comfort and the people next to them. But I also feel bad for the fat person cause and Becca were those people. Imagine being on a 22 hour flight with a fat person flopped all over you. NOT FUN. Shoot just traveling within the U.S. and having a fat person on you for 4 - 6 hours is painful.
I have mixed feelings, but I don't think that they should embarrassing the fat folk, cause I have had to cuss out several airport people for this very reason.
How about the tall brothas like my husband who has to fold his legs up to squish between the seats? Lord have mercy if the person in front of him leans their seat back - all they gotta do is look up & there he is...in all his TALL & handsome splendor - folded up like a doggoned pretzel!!! Gotta love 'em!
