What's up with all the "private profiles"?

Love it!! between  Ms.Rhonda, Mrs. Royalty and Mack momma..whewww Yall aint NO JOKE!!!!! I need some more back bone like yall!! I love it!

I totally agree what's the point in having a private profile? It suggests you are not happy with your results or hiding something. That said, I put my profile private for awhile since there was some very obnixous members from R&R and other boards that I don't frequent copying my pics and putting them elsewhere. When I first joined OH, 4 years ago, that gangsta mentality did not exist and people were more supportive.

Unfortuntantely you have some very strange and sad people on these forums, it IS suppose to be a weight loss site where EVERYONE should be able to post their pics in peace to show their weight loss progress, it got to a point other members would say some members were considered "attention *****s" for taking many pics of their progress..which is recommended by their weight loss professionals to monitor their progress and to keep on track.

back in my day, the old heads taught us to keep our business close....don't let em know your next move.

the grown me still carries it that way. today's blog/twitter/facebook culture gives people WAY TOO MUCH ACCESS and it wigs me out.

right now my profile aint private but there's nothing on it.  once i start posting more pics and saying more about myself, it'll be private.

i just don't like the idea of people matchin my government name to my face to my online actions. and all that happens without me knowing that they're lookin at me. that wigs me out.

if you want to know how "out there" you are, try Googling your government name. then Google the different screen names you use on various forums and message boards.  what you find is what anybody can find out about you.

I don't have any pictures on here yet - I get a little nervous cuz we all know there are some crazy folks out there.  Had a few bad experiences with other sites with the copying pictures of my kids, family, etc.

For now, I've decided to put up pictures/avatars of women I admire, who make me smile, who are an inspiration, who've made a difference in other people's lives.  PLUS, there's a little bit of me in a whole lotta women out there.   I'm just keepin it movin....   

 

My profile is available for viewing, When I was pre-op and newbie  I would use some of the profiles I would read for inspiration and I was glad they were their so I would not want to make my profile private.  

Yes some people cut and paste etc,.. but if you don't want to share something don’t put that part out there. I go into detail but there are pictures that are not on my blog but I will gladly share more with anyone who asks.... If I want certain pictures private I don't post them it really is that simple. Just as on face book I have a ton of private pics that only some people will ever see but other’s I don't mind sharing.

We were all Obese that is why we were here so if someone copies a picture to make fun of someone well it really says more about the person who cuts and pastes makes fun of or back lines that person than it does the actual person who is on the picture even if that person is showing their boobs, behind, pics with legs open etc,..

Keep looking there are a ton of people who don’t have private profiles maybe their story will help you hope mine does if not it will help the next person.   Good Luck with everything!!

You are such a fighter and you didnt throw in the towel and i liked that very much.  whether people realize it or not it does help because that's what people are looking for on this site.
