OT Question: For the folks that believe the bible LITERALLY

I while back I asked the question if some of yawl believed the bible line for line, word for word...well the other day I finally read that abomination leviticus verse

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. -- Lev.20:13

So reading that LITERALLY I can interpret this like this.."Well it does say a MAN lie with mankind and HIS wife, it don't say anything about a woman laying with womankind or her husband" soooooooo...surely you get where I am going with this..lol

What are your thoughts on this..I really want to hear from those that admitted taking the bible literally word for word

I also read these verses and found them very interesting.....funny how I don't hear or see folks throwing this in folks faces and taking away their rights for doing such things..I also read the fish without scales are an abomination as well...but I sho' see a gang of folks eating up some crab and lobster....I have to say I found that book very interesting

20:9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

20:10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

20:11 And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

20:12 And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.

No but seriously I want to know what are your thoughts about this...not trying to get into any serious debate just want to know your thoughts about this

There is a guy I work with that it some "something" Christian and he doesn't eat shellfish or pork.   He's Christian but wears some string things around his waist and follows a Kosher diet.

Different religions follow different things but for the most part I think modern day Christianity leans more to the New Testament than the Old Testament. I have been to many different churches/different religions and each message of the same verse was COMPLETELY different.

That's where I struggle with organized religion--I like to analyze each verse and take from it what I see.  I need a church that combines about 10 different religions, lol.

I guess the only ones of us not burning/bleeding is women eating fish.

you stoopid for that last line....LMAO

No but seriously have you noticed even the most progressive of religions still hold firm to that one verse out of the old testament....all the other stuff gets a pass! I don't get it.

I think in order for religion needs to evolve and be more relevent to today's lifestyle.

Time mag has a cover story about this right now, the decline of christianity..I can't wait to read it!
