Um, I do have some folks who always have nothing but negative things to say about the surgery, which is almost everone, but I think folks are so used to me talking about it (thos close to me) they just want me to get it over with already. They've wtched me struggle to lose weight, so they know.
I guess I'm ready for the questions. I've already told some co-workers, but I'll be cracking up if I see people trynna eat small portions like me, that would make me laugh, lol. I'm thinking moreso folks will try to eat a LOT in front of my just trying to be funny. I AM prepared for that.

Post wls do you notice your co-workers clocking what you eat? No. I haven't told anyone at work. I always bring my lunch and eat in my cube; or I go out to lunch with my partner. In any event, I don't dine with coworkers, so they don't have the opportunity to say anything.
Have you noticed your co-workers lunches have started to look like what you normaly eat for lunch? N/A
Pre-ops are you ready for the " What are you doing to lose alll that weight ? (Trust and believe the nosey ones come at you from all angles.) N/A -- although, I must say, even though no one knows about my WLS, no one has said ANYTHING about my weight loss. I *am* losing, but folks just tend to mind their own business around here. I appreciate that!
Do people now come to you for advice now that you have lost weight ? Again, N/A.
Pro-ops are others trying to discourage you from having wls? When I was a pre-op, no one said anything in effort to discourage me. I'm the type that, if I've come to the conclusion that this is what I need, I've done all the thinking and praying about it that I need to. It's pretty much set in stone. The most important people in my life are, and always have been very supportive. Well, except that former BFF of mine whose season has now passed.

Nobody at work knows I've had surgery but they sure are wondering I bet! I've gone from a tight 18W to a 12 misses. Nobody has asked straight up, but they dig. I continue to smile and say....Atkins and exercises!
But the day I put my most recent pic on facebook last week........boy I had at least 15 messages asking how I lost all the weight. I felt bad for just one of the people asking. I remembered her being obese since high school. She was very quiet and I can't even say we were friends. She wrote to me with such sincerity that I HAD to tell her. She had been looking into WLS actually, but didn't want the RNY and has too much to lose for lapband.....and I gave her the info about the DS. She loved everything about it. She had never heard of it. She looked over the PA list of surgeons and made a consult appoinment for next month. She wrote me back telling me the news and saying it was God's work that made me be honest with her. That made me feel really good! I still made her swear to keep it a secret LMAO
But the other 14 people........they got Atkins and exercise LMAO

In a case like that I would come clean too.....people at my job dont know about my wls either.......dont spill my personal bizness at work cause those folks are a little on the grimey side

I ask them if they considered WLS, if they say no, I tell them that Weigh****chers has a good program that my dr recommend and keep it moving. They're not ready to get off the yo yo diet train.

After they tell me how happy they are that I did the band and how fabulous I look and not sickly because of the "dirty bypass". I chuckle and say I had a gastric bypass and walk away.
