Half ?!?!?!
so, Mel Gibson & his long time wife are getting a divorce. according to TMZ, "there is no prenuptial agreement -- they were married in 1980, before Mel Gibson amassed a fortune estimated at $900 million back in 2006. Under the laws of California, community property -- whi*****ludes earnings -- is divided 50/50.
so here's my question.....how y'all feel about her getting HALF!!
(extra points go to anybody *****members Eddie Murphy's comedy routine when he talks about HALF.)

I feel that she earned that money just as much as he did...She was his support system and encouragement and so forth and so on...It is not about me being a "Her" but she deserves it and he should not have a problem with it...Almost 30 years of their lives, if not more, were spent together and I am sure she earned every dime she will get.

$900 million!!! Dang.
So let me see if I got this straight.... If he gives her half then he's left with about $450 million giver or take (after lawyers fees he'll probably have about $150 million). I say give her the money and let her bounce. The only other alternative is to try and go out like Scott Peterson, and we all know how well that turned out.

Unfortunately, the law is the law. If it indicates that she is to get HALF then she gets it. IMO, I feel sorry for anyone who does not get a pre-nup. I know some people say getting a pre-nup is going into the marriage with the mentality that it is not going to work. I think otherwise. I believe it is going into the marriage with some type of protection so that in the event "something" happens, you are not taken to the cleaners. Statistics show that most marriages are not lasting for very long, so why chance it.
People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown
I know I better duck and take cover after this one, but I don't feel she should get half. Yes he should make sure she is well taken care of, but HALF. I put myself in their shoes. I don't know their story, but I know it goes both ways for men and women. So as someone who has to work for everything I get if I had to give my ex half I'd be pissed.
