Ball Finally ROLLING!!!
Praise the LORD Hallelujah!!!! The Ball is finally rolling 
on my WLS journey. I stopped coming on line or posting because I was becoming just so frustrated 
that my journey was just not moving. My Girlfriend and I were both talking Thursday night how we have not heard anything from our surgeons she was awaiting approval and I an acceptance from my surgeon of choice well an Angel 
must have answered both of our prayers as she was approved and I got my acceptance and appointment to meet with the surgeon. Well, here I am in NC and the process is moving right along, I have AETNA so i have to do a 3 month supervised diet which I started with my previous surgeon BUT I have to start all over but it is OK. So, I got my lab work done today, consult done, body scan, psych eval (said I wasn't crazy enough to have to come see her 2 more times so she is going to ask AETNA to allow the 1 visit and here I was thinking my craziness would stop me, Uhm why do they decipher everything you say anyway???), tomorrow I have Cardio Coach metabolic Analysis(fasting now) and My 1st AETNA Nut/exercise appt(1 down 2 to go) than I come back to NC in May for Nut/exercise #2 and Upper GI w/H-pylori breathe test thank god I can get EKG in GA so I have to schedule that. It is all coming together and it all hit me once I was in the doctor office and he was ordering test and etc for me I burst out 
with that cry/talk but it hit me all my RESEARCH and stalking of the OH boards and procrastinating and fear of having surgery has all finally panned out and my WLS journey has truly taken flight 
. No backing out now I handed over too much $$$$ today to back out now. now if AETNA try to play me out you all will read about woman in GA torching AETNA headquarters (Just Joking, this is not a confession). I must be serious about this mess i am in NORTH CAROLINA!!!! Lord have mercy on my soul, GOD IS GOOD!!!!!

Hello Ahari....Congratulations on your new journey. I too have...and had Aetna. They were wonderful with me throughout the entire process. I had NOT one single problem getting my approval from them. I jumped through all the hoops they asked. I started my Journey with my surgeon with my first consult on August 31, 2007 went through the 3 month program obtaining all the necessairy approvals from psych, nut, physcal therapy...and was given a date by December 18, 2007.(January 23, 2008) I'd not recieved approval as of yet....but my office submitted for approval on January 2, 2008...( I was told that it would take 2 weeks to get a decision) my approval was in my surgeons office late that night of January 3,2008( I got the news early morning 1/4/2008. I've heard a mixture of things about Aetna...but I have only WONDERFUL things to say about them. Hope your journey is as "stress free" as mine was.

I will be completed by June 16th the 3 month eval and the office states they will send off by June 30th but it will take up to 30 days for approval and my surgeon is 8 weeks out for scheduling looking at Aug end of Sept. So hopefully AETNA will approve mine as soon as it arrives and the surgeon will have a cancellation and i can be operated on in July. Work your AETNA magic for me Chocolate...lol....
