Hello everyone!

Ok, this question is for pre and post ops.  Lately, something really crazy has been happening.  I don't even have a surgery date yet, I am in month 2.5 of a 6 month program with Kaiser, and have to complete the program before approval for surgery.  But lately, I have found that when I think about going into the hospital, being wheeled in the O.R., actually having the surgery done, my hear starts racing really fast, and I have to breath breath breath to calm down!!  All i can think is DANG if I'm reacting this way now, and I don't even have a date, then how will I act on the day of surgery?  I wanted to know if any other pre-ops are experiencing this, and also post-ops, did you have a lot of anxiety in the months leading up to surgery?  Any advice?  I'm just hoping I don't act a scared fool on the day of surgery.

This is a big step and this surgery will forever change your life. I think this is why Kasier has such a long program in hopes you loose the weight and change your mind. Just pray on it and at the end of the 6 months and hang out on here and you will see if you need the surgery or not.

I didn't have anxiety until after my Options classes were over.  I still hadn't chosen a dr or a procedure and I had major anxiety up until my surgical consult.  Once I got my date, everything became peaceful and I knew I was making the right decision.  I was really calm the night before surgery and I went in with a clear mind.

I hope I have that same calm towards the procedure.  Thank you for responding!

I guess I'm on a mission today... Posting lika a mug lol

At any rate... What your feeling is so natural... You have a 6 mos program I had a 12mos program.. I was thinking about not even going thru with it... To tell you the truth I changed my mind about what surgery I was going to have.. What I did do however was I prayed, I read (peoples journey) and I prayed some more... So that I knew what to expect, what could happend, what not to do, and what was the constant in all the successful stories I've read... This is a big step (as everyone has said) not to be taken lightly... Just keep reading, journeling, praying and asking questions...
Can't wait to read your rebirth story..
