Mine is 16, I can relate and you know I can.  So...Breathe....all I can say is breathe.....in,out...count...10, 9, 8, 7, ....deep breath, let it out...6,5,4,3....deep breath, let it out....2,1.....remember you love her and this too shall pass...and in the end, she'll thank you.   Until then....just breathe.

My father would have and has said the same thing to some of my friends. It takes a village. Maybe she wouldn't be in her situation if someone had ingrained those words in her. We need to be hard on these kids. The bar is too low. In Chicago, kids were getting paid by CPS for getting good grades. Excuse me? That's what you're supposed to do. Until you're an adult, your job is to go to school.  

P.S. Your daughter is a good one. I remember telling my friends that my daddy was crazy. That's it, that's all.

OK you know she has a point. You came on strong, it was real advice but, maybe too real.  And she's your daughter and it is embarrassing when your dad is the one giving all the advice.
Put yourself in her shoes. She knows you mean well, but dang why does my my dad have to be the one to tell the truth. 
Young people "think" they're mature, but you see they're not ready for the real world yet. The truth hurts

When I attempted attitude like that, know where it got me?  And trust, I was a mouthy lil girl!  It got my head through some drywall!  And check this - moms did it and had JUST came home from the hospital after surgery! That woman flew down that hall, yanked me outta bed and threw me IN the wall.  The hole stayed there till we moved - covered w/ a decorative plate.  Told my dad u betta NOT patch it.  Let it be a reminder to her smart ass.

Jackie didn't have too many more issues with me after that.  Hell, I'm 34 and still scared to argue with her - luckily if I do, I'm 487 miles away!

Man I have been away for a few months now...I've missed several  things...My RoRo antics..... and Donnie's stories...and I see BabyGurl has gone into teen mode....sigh...my days are coming.
