I'm not quite as far out as you - but I was told you want to avoid drinks with calories.  What about iced tea?  do you like that - it costs more than I want to pay but when the other stuff gets old, I like to get a diet snapple.

i thought as far as drinks go that we had to stay under 5 grams of sugar per serving.  gatorade might be just beyond that.

Watch the sugar as everyone else has said. You dont want useless calories from drinks. Get it from food. U cant get in but so much of anything anyway.

I am unsure of the sugar and protein content of the Kellogs bars. Review it. See if it is worth it. For me, a protein bar with less than 20 grams of protein aint worth it, especially at 6 weeks. You cant eat it in one sitting (at least I could not at that time). So eating something with minimal protein power seemed futile for me.

Go for the gold and get the things where you can get the greatest gram impact even in small amounts.

I would stay away from anything with the word Kellogg in it! Usually has too much sugar.  As far as the drinks....once you are on solids...you will be able to mix it up a bit and have fun making your own drinks. Use your blender and start with a little ice, water, splenda, whey protein as the base and then be creative adding in your favorite fresh ingredients (i.e. a couple of fresh strawberries,  fresh juice from an orange etc...) Make sure you blend the ice thoroughly...really needed to make the drink cold and frothy but should not have chucks of ice still in it .  Be careful and don't add any high calorie stuff in there.  You will be able to add variety soon....until then just keep doing what you are doing (i.e. follow the Dr's plan). Bests! First and foremost, consult your dietary plan.  Both Gatorade and Powerade have low-calorie/low sugar blends.  I would really look at the sodium/potassium content.  These sports drinks are not formulated to drink daily.  If you have unflavored protein you can always add that to your drinks.  Hope you find a solution.  Best wishes to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
