They tell me to eat more.....(a little long)

(I have not had the surgery...yet...still trying to get approved)  In the last month & 1/2, I've lost almost 14 pounds by limiting my carbs and beefing up the protein.  I feel I need some REAL direction from REAL people!

Here's a look at what I've been eating:
Mornings - Protein powder with Soy milk (Lactose intolerant) at least twice a day (to & from work) - sometimes mixed w/Coffee or Chai tea.  When I have time, 1/2 cup Kashi cereal w/soy milk.

Lunch/Snacks - low sodium meat, low fat cheese, maybe a cup of fruit or yogurt, cheese stick, high fiber bar, mixed frozen veggies, etc.

Dinner - Meat (w/a little sauce from the maindish that I cooked for the family)

HOWever, while I'm reading the postings, it looks like everyone is eating a LOT MORE than me....and losing BIG time!!!  I'm veryyy nervous about eating more because, obviously, I didn't get to 316 ((((errrrr....302.6 now!!)))) not enjoying food.

I tried Weigh****chers numerous times and they always told me to EAT MORE!  (I'm 39 WW points - that's hard as hex to fit into one day)  If I eat more, I'm going to be back right where I started...and then some!  I'm getting really tired of hearing "the bigger you are, the faster you'll lose"....this is not the case w/me - I've been on a "diet since I was 12 - even did Optifast 12 weeks & lost 12 lbs). )

I hate to be so compulsive, but when I get a chocolate attack, I literally count out 12 dark chocolate m&m's and call it a day.  I feel I have to count everything right now or I'm going to get out of control again.  Trust me tho, I used to be able to "throw down" but my stomach has shrunk so even 1/2 a sandwich is hard for me to get thru these days.

I only drink Crystal Light lemonade, Iced green tea, water, sometimes a diet coke or glass of wine.

I've been walking 1hour a day and swimming indoors at least twice a week, also walk on Elliptical machine, free weights and elastic cords daily.

Can you give me a little help or suggestions??

What exactly are you asking and what exactly is the problem?  The first rule of WLS is don't compare yourself to everyone else.  That certainly applies even more to a pre op.

It is never too late to be what you might have been

I'm not really sure what you're asking.
Who said you need to eat more?  Is the dr's office worried that if you drop too much weight you won't get approved?  Does this weight loss count towards the 10% most drs want you to lose.

It seems you are on the right track to me if you are trying to lose weight.  Sorry I couldn't help more.

It seems like you are doing well. I find it hard at times to not compare myself with others, but shame on us! Focus on you and what your own body is telling you. Prior to my lapband surgery, I lost 65 pounds and was close to not being approved. If your worry is that you do not eat enough, make sure that you are getting the nutrients that your body needs daily. If you are worried that you are not going to be approved for surgery, you still have some weight to go before that will happen.

Your exercise program seems great.

Keep up the great work!

WW - when I did it last year until I got sick, I lost 10lbs easy.  Then stopped.  I wasn't using all my points or my extra.  You have to use them all. Crazy, I know, but it worked. I think mine was 35-39 (they fell as  I lost, so be sure you're adjusting your points as you lose).  I lost 25 lbs. I gained 12 back.   after I got ill, I fell off. I can't afford the $401 anymore - trying to save money and cut down, so...
I have an @$$h*le, therefore I have an opinion. or two... or forty.

Thanks for the input ladies!  You're right, I do have a problem comparing myself to others who are in the same boat (or have already swam to shore  - so VERY happy for all of you who persevered!!!****ep telling myself to take it one day at a time & it's all about "my choices".  SO happy I found this board.  Hugs to you all!
