Does anyone want to join me for a week of fruit and vegetables, only?  (Looking at Mack Mama).

For one week out of each month, I do a week of detox and would enjoy your company.  I get my protein in by eating beans and protein smoothies.

I start on Monday.

CJ!!!  Thanks, pretty lady.

The only vegetables that are off limits are potatoes and avacados.  You can also have 1 serving of brown rice and 2 servings of low-fat yogurt.

I'm sending you my number through PM....we can swap recipes.

I defifnitely wouldn't recommend it for a newbie.  Of course, check with your doctor.

Ok so I have a question...do you get get the shakes> How do you keep up and maintain a good glucose level? Pre-op I ate very little meat and was very anemic...just didn't care much for meat.

Post-op I sometimes still struggle with "wanting" to eat meat BUT I know that when I do have the 3-4 oz of dense protein it keeps me full for a long time. I have a REALLY hard time in the Spring and Summer when all the fresh veggies and fruits are available down here...roadside stands call my NAME...cucumbers, tomatoes, cantelope, watermelon....I could go on and on!!! HOWEVER, last year I had issues with dizziness and my iron dropping becasue I was not getting in my protein requirements. So....I would LOVE to do the detox thing (I'm a holistic FREAK) but I'm worried about not getting in enough protein. I don't do supplements anymore...but I guess I could for your program??? I can't be eating too many beans because the Yoga and Pilates puts my body in so many positions that I would blow everybody out da room with my GAS

I do supplement the protein with protein/fruit/yogurt smoothies...one first thing in the morning and another before bed.  This is 50g of whey protein.

I will usually have 1 scoop of Isopure protein powder, 1/3 banana, a few strawberries, a couple of chunks of pineapple, a small low-fat yogurt, and 3 packs of splenda.  I blend this all with ice and 2 oz of water.  Very filling.

Try it, Ya Ya.  You have may have to add a third protein shake to your plan since beans are NOT an option....lol.

As a former vegan, I still have moments when meat is not appealing at all.
