Fruit and Vegetables Detox
I have done the Fat Smash Diet several times, but after my mother was diagnosed with colon cancer and had to undergo two operations, I became more serious about colon/intestine health.
This is based on Dr. Ian Smith's Fat Smash Diet
Phase 1 - Detox
During the first phase of the diet plan impurities are flushed from your body. You are encouraged to drink a lot of water and eat four to five meals each day regardless of whether or not you are hungry. You are not allowed to skip any meals. Three tablespoons of fats per day are allowed with olive oil accounting for one to two teaspoons of the total. The following foods can be eaten in unlimited amounts.
- All vegetables and fruits except avocados and white potatoes
- Tofu
- Chickpeas
- Beans
- Lentils
Foods that are allowed in limited amounts include:
- 1 serving of Oatmeal per day
- 1 serving of Brown rice per day
- Soy milk
- Skim milk
- 2 servings of Low-fat yogurt
- Herbal tea
a big pot of vegetable soup (no potatoes)
a pot of greens
a pot of black eyed peas
a pot of lima beans
Vegetarian baked beans
a pot of cabbage
squash/zucchini/onions mix
Spring salad loaded with veggies (no eggs, cheese or croutons)
As a snack, I like LaYogurt low-fat pineapple yogurt with fresh pineapples cut up in it. The marinated cucumbers (vinegar, water, salt and pepper and sometimes tomatoes) are a huge hit for me.
I also drink carrot juice twice a day (made with my Champion juicer). Nothing like a good dose of beta-carotene.
For breakfast and before bed, I will have a protein/fruit/yogurt smoothie. I use strawberries, bananas, pineapple, blackberries, raspberries, low-fat yogurt, skim milk (sometimes**** and a few packs of splenda.
Eat any fruit that you like. Frozen grapes are good.
