My addiction used to be shopping and probably would still be.....if  I had the spare money to shop with.   This economic crisis done put a sister in serious check.

Sex was also high on the list....but my libido done changed almost over night.

Lately my new thing seems to be going to the  gym...I spend about 2 hours there.....and the gym aint half half bad considering I am trying to lose this weight.
Lets just hope I still got my sweet somebody at home by the time I get to goal.

In life,  and especially on this journey there are sure to be days when you falter and give in.......just remember to never give up.

GorgeousIsa;

You done started some sh** today! LOL! I never liked shopping too big...got tired of The Avenue and LB so I so forget about it...Since loosing 52 pounds I cant stay out of the stores....I have never been an overly sexy type of person in my clothes but I have been buying things I normally wouldn't buy before WLS! I am enjoying my tight jeans and heels! And my knees don't hurt! LOL!!

I love shopping...I have not purchsed clothes yet but went into Ashley Stewarts the other day and left back out after about 5 minutes...When you are a 14/16 ( I am an 18 now) You are in the middle and it is hard to shop for clothes...

I have the same addictions. But my shopping is not as extreme as yours. Although I did spend like $300.00 on some shoes (but more that one pair). I never did that before. I guess when you can't eat you really do pick up other bad habits.

I have to speak on this one..I was one to shop too when I was heavier, but now I am in the stores everyday..literally..my hubby told me Sat 150.00 later you have a problem..I can't put anything else on my shelves, drawers or for that matter hang up anything and I still continue to buy..I will clean out the closet stuff with tags still on them, give it to freinds and family~ shelters to then go back and refill it..I am praying about this because after awhile I think my hubby is gonna out me out..lol
finally!!!!!

I'm not one to knock anyone's habit, but as a former...ok recovering shopaholic, who just had a closet sale and made $225 on a few shirts out of her closet....I will say this. Why not invest. honestly? Mac comes out with a new color every 3 months. I mean $450? really? I live 10 mins from a Mac/Estee Lauder outlet--let me know what you need!!! Black people have a tendency to spend so much money on stuff that has absolutely no value in the long run--myself included. $200 jeans? Really? I've always been a believer that if you got it, then do the damn thing, but as I get older and realize I DO NOT WANT TO WORK FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE and I see all kinds of Louis Vuitton's, Fendi, Coach, Dooney, Bottega, Ferragamo, etc. and other miscellaneous "lost all its value b/c there are so many fakes running the street and no one really gives a **** about your Murakami that ran you $990 b/c they got theirs from the 'purse party' for $150" items in my closet and I say WHY? These are just things that make you happy for the time being. Invest. Save. Hell, put it under your mattress if you dont trust the banks, but stop given "the man" all your money on bull****

Case and Point, I live in southwest florida, there are $5 million and $6 million dollar homes lined up across the beach and you know what you see in their driveways: MINI VANS, CAMRY'S really?

I dont know. Just something to think about.

.....i think the Gym is an excellent transfer addiction to a wls patient! Get it right, keep it tight!

I respect your opinion but because of past experiences I would rather have what I want now and be happy with it for the moment because when I leave this earth I will not be able to take it with me...my LV bag was the best $900 I spent...I love it...I do not knock the fakes at all...To each its own...May sound weird but I feel so different and powerful with that bag...Last but not least I get 60% off of ALL MAC products...I shop a lot but am a smart shopper...I buy name brand shoes on sale...If I really like it I might pay full price and because of two incomes in my household saving is not that much of an issue... Sometimes you just have to splurge and enjoy yourself...I refuse to shop if I have to use credit cards though...The best thing about it is that I had NO buyers remorse which is odd for me...So it was money well spent...But now no more shopping until I hit the 100's and then I will treat myself with something special...My house is important and I need to save EVERY DIME...

I usually have not been a shopping before WLS.  Because I hated
to shop now I can shop with the best of them.  Having to leave so of the shopping go because of the slow down of the country.
But also busy paying off plastic wanting a new home to retire to in a few more years(down sizing) So the shopping is coming to a halt. There only one income My thoughts of going back to my  seamstress career has gone down the drain all the fabric shops within 25 miles have closet and alteration is not what I like to do. I GUESS SOMETIME WHAT WE LIKE TO DO HAVE TO BE BUT ON THE BACK BURNER.

"A Man's heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
Proverb 16:9
May not be where I want to be but I glad to be where I'm at.
Working at getting the rest of the way.
