Good Questiom Mackalicous.

Now that I think about it, I'm as overweight as they come and I don't think I have alot of Overweight friends. I mean I know a TON of them, but that's from work, church, etc. The ones I actually hang with arent OW at all.  Hmmm.

Right now, everyone that knows about my WLS all support me and I want to say their words and feelings are real, but time will tell.  If it's not, I don't have no problem cutting a mofo off the Juice Island.

Even at my heaviest weight I remained active (hanging at the mall, playing in the park), so i dont have any problem hanging out with my overweight friends, especially since I'm still overweight.  I love and treat all of my friends the same way I did before WLS.  Although some of them treat me differently (not wanting to eat around me) its only because they feel they are looking out for me.  I also come from a heavy family so I would have to cut off contact with everybody who didnt live the same lifestyle I currently do.

At my birthday, a friend of mine made the observation that I was the smallest chick in my party. I never really realized it or paid it much attention hell that wasn’t the case 11 months ago lol. I do find myself gravitating to more thin folks only because as I’ve found it does mean more active and OH has been my deepest pond to fish for new friends because its like we’re in this secret society lol.

Get is getting hard to shop with my sister because see does go on one side of the store. And I'm on the other side of the store when it come time to trying on clothe I hate to ask her what she thinks.  There still thing that we can but that look a like but I just done what to do that to here.  Even though at one time I was the big one in the look a like clothe. I never had many friends with an ill child it was hard to have people that understood when they gave you a invite and you couldn't attend.  The invited stopped coming but the acquittance(SP?) was few and those have gone and when I see them they are on the fly by and say how great I look and what are you doing getting skinny. I love to take the HB out and watch everone enjoying eating it hurts my stomache to think of how I use to pigout just because it was an all you can it place.

Real friends should never be left behind because a real friend is there when we fall and need someone to crawl back to.  Not directed at anyone but just an observation.... Sure many on BAF look fabulous having lost a great deal of weight and understandably feel really good about oneself. But take the blinders off and look at the soft tummies and saggy arms and thighs...to many normal weight, healthy and toned people...no matter that one  might not be the morbidly obess person that they once were...in their eyes...that wls patient that is so hyped on herself...is the very type of fat person that the conceated wls person wish to to dispose of!  It's all about perception so love your friends no matter what they look like...even if they don't want to exercise with you...offer everyday. You'd be  surprised at how many calories come off taking a fun walk while chatting about silly things. Encourage healthier options to drinking and dinners out...you'll be surprised  at the weight loss or change that you might inspire. The big thing...the weight loss is not guarunteed if you don't work at it...think that friend that you toss  aside won't understandably lead the laughter if you fail?

I feel you on that - REAL friends yea - true blue no matter what.  But those that WILL let variation in activity or other needs cause them to shy away or fall off - what of them?

When my BF quit smoking - he quit hanging around his smoking friends - not cause he doesn't like hanging with them - but because if he did, he knows he will end up smoking - so he chose his health over his hanging time with THEM - now he has another group of friends that don't smoke - and he hangs with them more......

I guess I was more focusing on the change in lifestyle possibly not being compatible rather than actively choosing not to hang with someone soley based on their weight - does that make sense?

Mack mamma I so agree with you !! I'm going through the same thing, all my friend stay at a buffet table. I workout 2 hours a day, I changed what I eat, and have become a very active person.... Don't get me wrong I still love my friends but sitting on someone's couch after a 3 hour buffet binge  is not what I call a good time anymore.
