Lightweights vs. Heavyweights
You are SO MUCH better than me. I would call them MOFO's out on the board!!
The term "lightweights" and "Heavyweights" is always funny too me because it all means the same thing = FAT.
My bmi was "44" my pre-op weight before I went on a eating spree was "279". I was a HEALTHY Obese person if that makes sense. No health problems whatsoever.
My BMI alone qualified me for surgery!!
***** em. I had never been obese until my son. He will be 6 so in the big picture of things I was lucky to qualify for surgery--thankfully I didn't need the 5 year history or I wouldn't have been eligible.
I had mild sleep apnea but have always. No real co-morbidities.
But I was 245 the day of surgery, unhappy and KNEW what life was like without so much weight on me.
I also had the experiences of having my dad die at 54 and me 23. He had lived with CHF for 10 years, was diabetic, had a stroke, quadruple bypass the whole 9...
cholesterol always low but he was seriously overweight.
I would give everything to have had my father in my life longer and to have my child have the pleasure and honor of knowing him.
For me it's about LIFE. Life in all forms---physical, mental, emotional.
So again **** what you heard--do you.
As a side note, there are MANY other reasons to question you on your actions than your WLS. (love you)
i'll be having surgery on Tuesday April 7th. it will be THE most individual decision i've ever made in my life. by individual decision i mean this is the only thing i've ever really done that wasn't about anybody else....it was my decision to do something for me.
with that said, i've been short with anybody asking me about it. i've told both family and friends to fall back. i told them they'd probably never understand why i'm doin it so i'm really not gonna try to hard explainin it.
just know i'm doin it for me. its my decision to make. i'm not askin for your opinions cuz they hold no weight on this.
thats the way i'm carrying it.
this aint a case of lightweight vs heavyweight. its a matter of YOUR weight vs their weight.....they don't have a say in whats YOURS.
so they need to tread lightly and back up off you.
