I am about four months out and I am having some issues with my hair being so nappy.  Did anyone use a relaxer during the hair loss stages.  If so did if effect your hair much

GM,

I'm actually growing my hair natural during this pahse..lol  I

My hair grows so nice w/o a relaxer.  It's just a personal choice wether you want a relaxer or not.  I noticed my relaxer lasted alot longer after surgery than before.

If you want to get one just make sure you and your hair dresser are on the same page do deep conditions and trims often.  If you choose to not get one just get your hair blown straight if you want the "relaxed look"

My natural hair is as attractive as a brillo pad - so I have ALWAYS relaxed my hair.  I used to see a hairdresser regularly - but I can do my own just as well (I just get lazy sometimes) - the beauty supply sells exactly the stuff she uses - so I just make sure I base my scalp very well and am careful to relax only the roots on touch ups.

Even with my hair loss - I didn't have any problems.  I have been using the Dr. Miracle line for the last month or so and it seems to be helping a lot.  You might want to try it.

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

I've been natural for 3 yrs now and I love it.. I can wear it straight, curlly,or wetset.. and I'm not a controled by the weather... I think I look good... But that's me, I had to learn to love and work with what God gave me.. No more perm burn for me... Now I will rock a weave and braids, but I found when I relaxed I had no choice it was just straight and that was it.. Check out  fotki.com search for natural hair style you'll be suprised..
