20 pounds lost in 1 week? What?

THIS HAS CONFUSED THE HELL OUT OF ME.  I HAD SURGERY A WEEK AGO YESTERDAY AND HAD MY 1 WEEK CHECK UP TODAY.  I HAVE LOST A TOTAL OF 20.5 POUNDS ALREADY.  I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE REASON FOR HAVING SURGERY BUT MY DR. SAID I WASN'T DOING SOMETHING RIGHT.  I'VE TRIED DRINKING THE PROTEIN AND TRUST ME IT'S HARD.  BUT THE ONLY THING THAT SEEMS TO GO DOWN IS THE FREEZE POPS AND THE WATER.  WHAT ELSE AM I SUPPOSE TO DO?  PLEASE HELP.  MY HAIR IS GOING TO BE ON MY PILLOW BEFORE THE MONTH ENDS.

Hi There

I know what you mean by trying to ge the protein in. I have started putting in "unflavored" protein powder into my pudding and oatmeal.

Also, Have you tried drinking protein water? I like the Alpine Punch Isopure protein water and those special K protein water packages.

Hope that helps.

Hello Butterfly,

Congratulations on the 20lbs I wish that you continue to excel on wl journey.
My wls type is bpd/ds, we have the sleeve in common. Do you know the size of your sleeve?

I was not able to get 20gm of protein in day as a early post-op take it easy wls is not a one size fits all, be patient and pro-active in your recovery.

within 30 days I barely was able to get 30gm in, on DS forum our rule of thumb is 30g every 30 day for 3,months within 90 day you will be able to achieve this goal.

Please remember to sip,sip and walk as much as you can there is still a risk of blood clotting at this time, also the walking helps with getting rid of the gas that was pumped inside of your stomach if your procedure was lap.

P.S. have you tried the protein bullets http://www.proteinbullet.com/
I use these often since I have no appetite Good luck!

Hello,

I use a different protien bullet from the Vitamin Shoppe....they get the job done, but are VERY thick.   Just interested to find out if these are thick as well???

for about my first 6 months i lived on maloxx and sf popscicles..and my hair was not on my pillow..it did thin some..but take your vitamins, take biotin its supposed to help with your hair. find what works for you. everyone is different find what works for you..i didn't like any of those protein drinks..i bought and bought and gave away a bunch of it..the only one i really liked was unjury chocolate i would put that in skim milk..find what works for you. stay hydrated, take yoru vitimans..you are only a week out it will take you longer then a week to figure out what works for you...Be Blessed!!
