My scar, which was looking like it was going to stay a thin pink line down my middle, has keloided.

I kept irritation off of it, rubbed Mederma on it three ties a day, and i STILL endd up with a Keloid scar.

Does anyone have any suggestions, other than going to the dermatologist to get it shot up with cortisone?

Mine had also keloided but now it has gone down and it's smooth.  If it weren't for the color, I wouldn't even know it was there.

You may also want to try the silicone scar pads.  They are used in different weights to "flatten" raised scars.  I wish you well on your therapy as I know it to be a very trying/taxing one.

Get the shot it's worth the stick, I had to have my thyroid removed and almost didn't because I didn't want a scar on my neck .......1 month later I'm at the dermatologist getting my shot's and you can't even see the scar on my neck.

Thanks for posting this.  A couple of my scars have done the same thing.  I just scheduled an appointment with the dermatologist!

Scarguard.  it's expensive but it's a combo of silicone, cortisone and vitamin E.  it treats and flattens raised and old scars.   go to scarguard.com for FAQs but i buy it offa ebay.   workin wonders on me so far.  good luck!

Mine did too.  My largest scar not only became keloid but it is dark too.  I did not know about the cortisone shot from the dermatologist.  I am about to give her office a call and check on this.
