Hello Middle Man, my name is Keshonna, I am 29 years old and soon to be 30 (Sept 18th).  I read in your forum that you are also pre opt.  What type of expectation did your doctor provide to you and what is your target weight goal?  My wow moment was when I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and go on the scale and weighed in at 328 lbs.  Thanks

There are so many WOW moments.  Where to begin...

Being able to walk around the block without grabbing an inhaler.
Being able to ride my bike without wanting to passout or reach for the heating pad because everything hurts.
Being able to cross my legs (not my ankles) for the first time in years.
Being able to shop for a new pair of jeans in a department store and not a specialty store.
Being able to celebrate without it being focused on food.
Being able to throw away medications for blood pressure because I no longer need them.

That's just off the top of my head.

I am only seven weeks out and this weekend I had my first wow moment. I was going through some of my old clothes and just thought I would start trying some of them on. My husband and I were amazed with the fact that I can now fit into clothes that I wore when he and I first met. I was so happy. We went to visit relatives Saturday and they were like wow you look great. And the questions started coming.

Hello:

My first WOW moment came yesterday. I have not had WLS yet and am completing the necessary testing. As the process continues and I read WLS recipient stories and get feedback from My medical team, I realize how Blessed I am to be healthy. I had a Paradigm Shift yesterday about this; I had been saying for years that I wanted to "regain" My Health, little did I realize that I am healthy but that obesity threatens to destroy My Good Health.

I recognized that WLS is not just corrective but it is also preventative, because undoubtly I will go into bad health if My weight stays as it is. Some people may have grasped this concept way before I did, but I got the "awakening" right on time. I hope that others out there that are obese but otherwise healthy don't wait until their Body begins to break-down before they get this help.

What a WOW moment for Me!

My WOW moment

My daughter had business casual day today at school. She has a couple of outfits in her closet but this morning she decided to knock on my door. When she came in she said "Ma...do you have some work pants that I could wear to school today?" Out of habit I said, "Boo, you know that you can't fit any of my clothes." She said, "Mommy...you lost so much weight, I may be able to get into something in your closet." And than it hit me...I have lost an extreme amount of weight and she may be able to fit something in my closet. So I let her go in my closet and pull out a pair of slacks that I was sure that she was not going to be able to fit. She went in her room and tried on the pants and guess what. THEY FIT...well...kinda. They were a little big on her but not that big. She put on a belt and wore them to school. She really looked good in them and I was amazed. I was like "OH MY GOD...my daughter and I can share clothes." I have never been able to share clothes with my daughter and now she can wear my clothes and guess what? I can wear hers. I put on a pair of her jean shorts the other day just to see if they fit and yes they did. Can somebody please say "DO THE DAYUM THING"  LOL.
