She's been missing almost 24 years...

Hi BAF Family,

I am a firm believer in the power of prayer.  Well some of you (particularly the older members) may have remembered me posting about my sister who has been missing since 1985.  She was last seen walking home from School on December 4, 1985. She was 16 years old.   As with many children of color who end up missing...they really don't get the media hype sometimes necessary to solve cases such as these.  For us back in Arkansas in 1985, we didn't even get the help from the authorities.  Well a year and a half ago I was actually able to get my sister's case reopened. I had to go to Arkansas and do some personal investigation on my own. By interviewing several woman that had a relationships with my sister's then boyfriend over the last two decades, I found out that he has had nothing but a violent history with woman.  He even served time for shooting one woman in the face.  Now while I know that every one is innocent until proven guilty, this was the only lead that we have had in over two decade and he was the last person seen with my sister.  There is some other evidence as well. (Contd below)

LYNN SMITH Age Progression
Case Type: Endangered Missing
DOB: Oct 12, 1969 Sex: Female
Missing Date: Dec 4, 1985 Race: Black
Age Now: 39 Height:  5'3" (160 cm)
Missing City: HOT SPRINGS Weight:  110 lbs (50 kg)
Missing State :  AR Hair Color: Brown
Missing Country: United States Eye Color: Brown
Case Number: NCMC665279
Cir****tances: Lynn's photo in the center is shown age-progressed to 38 years. The photo on the left and right are both of Lynn. She was last seen on December 4, 1985. Lynn's ears are pierced. She has a mole on the right side of her chin. Lynn was last seen wearing pink pants, a brown jacket, and tan shoes. She also goes by the name Jeffrey Lynn Smith.

Since getting the case reopened I have been working vigilantely with the now cooperative police department down there, The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and various other likeminded organizations.  My family recently was contacted by a Public Relations firm who wants to help us get some much needed media exposure. They are calling our Campaign the "Justice for Lynn" Campaign.  Usually...this is the only way to get long term cases solved.  People are now geographically dispersed and whoever might know something has put it in the recesses of there mind.

As a result of my personal passion for this cause, I am an National Advocate for families with missing children through an organization known as Team Hope ( http://www.teamhope.org/).  I post today to ask one favor.  If you view  this post and believe in the power of prayer, please pray for me, my family and all the other families out there that are coping with the tragedy of a missing child or adult.  For us there are no answers...only questions and horrible images that play out in our minds of what might have happended to our loved one.

Below I have included links to the various media exposures that we have received so far...Its not enough until we get a national headline. Then I can feel at peace knowing that I have done everything in my power to find my sister living or deceased.  In my heart, I know she is deceased....but we need to find her and give her a proper resting place as well as Justice.  Please pray for us.

Thanks so much for the prayers Mrs. Rhonda... its never a question in my mind. I know my sister would do it for me if the shoe were on the other foot.  I have faith that one day...in God's time...we will get the answers we seek.  God Bless.

My family and I have been on the other side of something of this nature. I'll contact you to talk about it with you.  I will also pray for your sister, you and your family.  People think that all wounds heal with time. That's not always true.
