Piggyback off of MM's Post
I see this here all the time and it cracks me up. I mean it seems as if ppl sometimes aren't looking for answers so much as co-signers.
First person: "I'm two weeks post-op. Should I eat a pound of bacon and drink a fifth of Bacardi after I lose my first two pounds?"
Second person: "Nah, sweetie, I don't think thats a good idea.."
Third Person: "Hell to da' yeah. I was eatin' fatback TWO DAYS OUT!! Dat shiot was guudder than a mo' fo' for real...okay. i'm about 4 years out, girl and weigh more than I did pre-op, but i'm good.."
First person's reply to Third Person: "Gurl, I'm with that. Cuz you know, i'm fiendin' for a drank."
First person's reply to the Second Person: "You need to mind youre business. If I wanted chiot from a know-it-all like YO' a$$, I'd squeeze yo' head and watch it spill out, mo'fo!!"

"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer." Plutach. Not true, for there are always more worlds to conquer.

I hear ya...what's so funny is that I've seen so many posts like that:
OP: "I'm two weeks out and I ate half a cake and some doritos. Is that okay?
BAF: hell no, please work your tool. Don't sabotage yourself....etc
OP: "I'm leaving BAF, ya'll too negative for me. I wasn't asking for Ya'll opinion no way!!!!"
Bwhahahahaahahahahahaha!!

I don't know the topic you are piggybacking..but I want to respond to your question: Why do folks ask questions they obviously already know the answers to and when they DO get responses they don't like, spit at the responses? I think that there are several perspectives (1) Some people really want honest feedback from the perspective of the reader, responding to what is written, (2) Some people only want a dialogue from responders who will agree with them because they are looking for affirmation; even if it is wrong or incorrect, (3) Some peeps are delusional; they live in a certain mindset that they believe is true and when they get a different perspective they can't reason it. Because the person can't/won't change to accept that some/ part of a different perspective maybe true, they have to attack it.
My position is that when anyone posts on a Message Board, Blog, Chat Room on the Internet, they are asking for all comers (even if they ask for limited responses). If people want to talk to only people who will agree with them or have their own perspective, why not email or IM them, or better yet start a "friends circle" where people just agree on a topic of the day and each reponder has agreed to agree with the Poster of the Day. I don't think that Internet Socializing is the place to be for people with high sensibilities. When you Post on the Internet, you have let the tooth paste out of the tube...it ain't going back in, so deal with all/none/or some of the responders, and kinda feel honored that someone took the time to respond to your Post. If people did NOT respond, then how would they feel?

Yeah, I knew the answers to my questions already, I just wanted honest open convo. Besides, it has been quiet lately.

I have only been around here for a little while...but you know I'm willing to accommodate conversation or even conflict (without it there is no change...of attitudes, prejudices, pespectives; nothing new comes about, there is no discovery.) Heck, I'm just glad I have 2 cents to give...and don't care who I give it to. LOL
