Like I really need yall permission ~roll eyes~

But anywho....unfortunately, we attended an 8-hour ~roll eyes~ funeral yesterday....Phil's cousin....38 years young died of cancer.....he was married with 4 children....I kid you not, here, they do a final viewing for the family....the mother had to move her two sons from the casket in order for them to close....LAWD, I broke down! That hurt my heart something bad!

But anyway....I'm not use to long funerals....only in Cinci, have a seen everything done in one day......viewing, receiving, awake (whichever you call it)...and memorial, homegoing, celebration of life (whichever you call it)....so, it started at 9:30am.....we left the church (burial is nit a different location)....2:30pm (yeah I exaggerated the hours LOL)....

now, understand, he was a Min of music....had CDs produced.....and was a songwriter.....he was first baptized Pentecostal (at Phil's grandad's church---which is where the funeral was held)....then he moved to Indiana....there he and the bishop (Baptist)....made the CDs.....then he joined a non-denominational church.....he has been to ATL, DC, almost errywhere recording music.

So, you have holiness, baptist, and non-denom (it was like battle of the religions up in there)...

When the baptist did their (southern baptist singing).....and got people happy....the Pents had to outdo them..........and errybody had their own drummers....guitars.....then the non-denoms where like BABY NO! and they had to get even more people ....I mean the wife got it and they needed a nursemaid for the nursemaid!  She was holding the wife, but for you know it, she got  too and now the wife there alone....~SMH~.....I'm like "send her anoda nurse please".

They battled for an hour I know! Errytime they calmed down....they started right back up....clapping and a stomping and shouting and a crying.....so glad I did not have to pick a winner ~hehehe~ but it was a great celebration of his life....his music.

Sad and happy....my prayers will continue to be with his wife and children....but I know they will be okay....cause when their mom pulled them away, the oldest son (around 10 or 11) took his baby brother (around 7 or 8) and pulled is head into his arm and comforted him as they both cried (did I say I broke down watching that?!).

Phil said when his grandpa died, they had a 3-day service.....each being 12-hours each....I'm like DAYUM what did yawl think--he was gon wake up or something?

He said it was because him being a Bishop with churches overseas, they had to do 3-days to include everyone....~I was thinking, I'm so glad I did not go~

8 hours?  good grief...lol even if you did stretch the hours 9:30- 2:30 is still long in my book

i already told my folks...That when they die they can expect two  things from me...

1. i WILL NOT hold their body out for a darn week... Whats with black folks holding bodies out? I told them people got 3 days MAX or they will just miss the funeral.

2. no long funerals.

Tell me it was the viewing of the body for at least 3 hours and then the funeral. Yes we do leave our people for 7 days that why I didn't have my baby laying there for 7 days if they couldn't get here in 5 days they  just didn't make it .  I try to get her to rest in 3 days only there was another young man that past the same week from a big family and We was ask if we could wait until Monday I cry all weekend.  When there funeral and young kids are part of the lost I find it hard to go I'll break down everything.  The last funeral I when to 2 months ago I got a 1/3 of the way down the isle and back straight out of the door.
I thought I was going to lose my mind.I went a seat in a van with sister-in-law.
I've told the HB and DD DNR nor leave me laying around for 7 days
Put me away so they can go no.

May not be where I want to be but I glad to be where I'm at.
Working at getting the rest of the way.

12/10/2012 I'll be having LBL, BL/BA, thigh & arm lift, eyelid
Body by Dr. Sauceda    booked to 12/9--12/22

My cousin and her husband own a funeral home in DC. What most people don't know is when you move the body from place to place ex: funeral home to church~church to cemetery it cost $$$$!! Lots of green backs!! People do the 1 funeral day thing to save money and sometimes to make it easier on those coming out of town!

Sorry for the religion "show". This is why a person need to know JESUS THE CHRIST and not religions.

Sorry about your families lost!!
I can do all things through Christ  who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 NKJV
