meekie, no need to be discouraged. i think one of the problems we have as post op patients is comparing our progress with others. you are on this journey for 'you'. as far as not seeing weight loss, i was post op about two years before i could see my loss. you are going to have to change your relationship with food. don't eat it just to see what happens. try to strict to what your nutritionist's instructed you to do. my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hi Meekie!
Don't get discouraged...believe me when I tell you...the weight will drop off...just keep following your plan and try not to eat anything that might make you dump...believe me...you will be back on here asking for prayer to get you through..dumping is no joke when it happens. I am like some others as well ...i don't dump off of sugar but for some reason I can't eat Chinese food anymore or I dump like crazy. I wish you well on your journey.

I have experienced dumping a few times but not like my daughter. When I eat too much I feel sick to my stomach and my body starts to throb. I suggest you stick to the instructions given to you. Just because you can tolerate it doesn't mean you should eat it. I know you want this journey to be a successful one. Just keep in mind we didn't gain the weight overnight and we won't loose it overnight. It is a process and you are experiencing some success. (IE loose fitting clothes) I have lost over 100 lbs and I still see me as fat, while others tell me I am too small. We are on our way to the mountain top, give me your hand so I can help you make the next step toward the top. Hang in there my friend, hang in there.
THANKS GUYS. I PRAYED ON IT LAST NIGHT AND I TALKED TO MY MOM WHO HAD THE SURGERY IN 04. I GUESS I DO TEND TO COMPARE MY PROGRESS WITH OTHERS. I HAVEN'T EATEN ANY CRACKERS TODAY AND ONE O F MY HAIRDRESSERS CLIENTS HAD THE SURGERY ALSO SO SHE GAVE ME SOME PROTEIN POWDERS AND DRINK BRANDS TO TRY. SO I WILL BE SHOPPING FOR PROTEIN THIS WEEKEND!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING FOR PROTEIN????
I also use Whey Protien for the Vitamin Shop.... I'm still on soft foods and I can mix it in with my cottage cheese, malt o meal and cream of wheat. I also bought protien bullets from the Vitamin Shoppe..... 42g or protien in a 4oz bullet...0 sugar 0 fat, they are not milky but they are thick, and come in orange, tropical punch, grape and blueberry flavors. They are a bit pricey $3.49 each, but I have to do what I got to do until I'm able to tolerate the powders better. Hope this helps.
I drink Whey Protien which is inexpensive and can be found at Walmart. If you haven't already tried it you may want to. I just recently realized how important getting protien in was,I started feeling light headed and nervous and I felt hungry a lot and it was becuase I wasn't getting enough protien.
You will notice a big difference when you make sure you get it in everyday. You will loose the weight though and everyone is different so don't worry yourself just follow your Dr. and Nut's orders and you will be successful.
