My one year checkup
I saw my surgeon yesterday as oppose to 4/14 due to my lack of energy so labs were ordered last week ti be ready for the appt. Well, surgeon comes in and I tell him I'm feeling a little tired and guess what? the labs are NOT in my chart. I made it a point to get my labs done BEFORE my appt because I like to go over my info not that whole crap of "if everything is ok we'll see you next time" I also feel its a waste of time if you don't have my lab for uss to discuss....anyway that's my rant
My weight is still 164 lbs however he was a little concern that I had lost 8 lbs since last month visit to NUT and he told me DO NOT LOSE ANYMORE WEIGHT! He and I had discussions at each visit with my being concern about the amount of weight I lost on average about 20 lbs the first 6 months and he kept telling me "it will plateau" but it never did so NOW he's concern if my body will know when to stop without some help.
He went on to say on average people lose between 60-70% of their excess weight with WLS between 12-18 months. I've lost 95% of mine in less than a year. He was very proud of my success but thinks without the labs to review I may be malnourished and directed me to add a protein shake into my meal plan to help stabilize my weight and also give me more energy until he gets the labs to make sure they are ok and I see the NUT on the 14th.
