Flipped Port (Any info Bandsters?)
Hello Everyone! I was banded on January 26th of this year and I went in for my first fill under the floro (sp?) on Friday. We discovered then that my port is flipped ;( I'm sure someone here has gone through the procedure to have it done, and I was wondering if anyone would mind telling me about it. I'm having surgery on Tuesday to fix the issue, and he's going to give me a fill too (which is exciting!). What I'm really worried about is that I work retail and am scheduled to work two days after the procedure. Will I need to try and fix my schedule since I am required to stand for hours, walk around, bend at the waist so on and so forth -- or am I just worring about nothing :)
Thanks in advance!!! (x-posted to the Lap-Band forum too)

First happy rebrith to you I was also banded on the same day as you. I'm sorry that your port has flipped on you but I really don't have any answer for you but if I were you I would take off at least 2-3 days just in case you have any issues with pain or trouble with eating.
I will keep you in my thoughts that all will go well for you and post again and let us know how it turned out....Good Luck

Hey sorry I hadn't spent much time on the board the past couple off days so I didn't respond to your post sooner.
I had my port replaced in January due a flip. Once my Dr got in he noticed my original port was all banged up so he opted to replace it. I had the surgery in an outpatient center, and was in and out within 2 1/2 hrs. They used my original incision so I don't have any new scars.
I took the day after surgery off work and 2 days post op I went back to work. I'm a nurse so my job can be a bit physical at times and I did ok. I only needed to take prescription pain meds the day of and the day after surgery. It was pretty hard to lie flat for a few days so I pretty much slept in a recliner or sitting upright.
All in all it wasn't a bad experience surgically other than I developed a seroma and the additional fill the Dr placed during the surgery was a bit too much for me and I wasn't able to get an unfill as soon as I probably should have.
If you have any other questions PM me.
