I am 4 months PO and I feel like I am just eatting too much at times.  I can ususlly eat  around 3/4 of a cup of food, if it's salad then I can eat almost a plate full and it feels like I am eating more than I should be able to.  How much should I be able to eat at this point. I just ate a saucer full of chilli with meat and beans and about 3-4 crackers. Is this too much?

I don't over eat you know I eat till I am satisfied, not necessarily full but just satisfied.  I don't actually measure my food anymore I just eyeball it and it's about the same.

You will find that sometimes you will be able to eat more times than others. I'm almost 4 years out and today  I ate about 3 bites of Tilapia, 1 teaspoon of green beans and 2 tsp. of broccoli casserole... and I am full to capacity.... yesterday, I ate a full salad at one sitting.

Usually, the hotter/softer the food, the more of it you will be able to eat. You are right not to force or push yourself to eat.... once you get full, stop - it will stretch your pouch (but you already know that).... I couldn't eat salad until I was at least a year out, so I can't relate much to what you said about salad..... if i were you, i would ask my doctor and or nutritionist about the size of your pouch and the amount of food it holds.... wishing you continued success and all the best along your weight loss journey....

Soft mushy stuff will ususally go down faster and you will be able to get more in - like the chili.  Now bread - different story!  LOL  Different foods will do different things - hell - then the SAME shiot you ate yesterday can do something different tomorrow!  You NEVER know!!!

Definitely ask your doc - I remember when I was about 6 mos out and thought I was eating up a storm - called the docs office and talked to them - they set me straight and gave me the piece of mind I needed......

At 4 months I did as you are doing ate until I got satisfied. I think that is the best for you. I like to think that the less food I ahve to swallow the ore of it I will eat so chili's, tuna, cottage cheese I'll eat more of them than say salon, chicken breast. I began eating crackers at 3 weeks post op per my NUT so at 4 months I think you should be fine with that if your surgeon or NUT gave you that as an "ok food" at this point.

I have my NUT's email address so I email her when I'm feeling crazy about something like this. Just give your surgeon or Nut a call.
