Hey yall

Ever since starting this running  program I sweat like crazy and so I have to wash my hair more often so I went on you tube and found out about this Co-Washing, which is washing your hair with just conditioner to prevent it from getting to dry.

Do any of you co-wash?    Does it really make your hair feel clean?

Lee, I alternate between regular shampooing and co-washing.  It works for me and it doesn't leave my hair feeling stripped of natural oils.  Try it... you may like it!

I just started to co-wash. You can obtain more info on the Long Hair Forum website for Black Women. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/

It is SO funny you would mention this, because I just said the other day that I needed to stop washing my hair so much and just condition..... I slept with it in my hair last night... my hair is so short, I can't afford to have it short and unhealthy.... I'll check it out on youtube.... thanks for the tip!

Yes I do this all the time. Actually I co-wash more than shampoo wash.  But make sure you get a cheap conditioner becasue it'll run out fast cowashing. Use your "good" conditioner for your deep conditioning. HTH

I do it all the time. Be sure to use a humectant conditioner. So Suave makes a good one for a good price. Try it. Keeps my hair soft and moisture. Be sure to hit those ends!

That's what I do or I use a sulfate free shampoo twice a month to cleanse any product out of my hair but during the week it's co-wash. I use Hairone from Sally's and I love it but sometimes I'll just use Suave conditioner during the summer when I'm washing more often. Curlyhair.com will explain this to you. I've been doing this for years and it does clean your hair and scalp.

I have done that for years...too much shampooing leaves my hair so dry and frizzy that (in the summer especially when i wear my hair natural more) i may actually shampoo once a week (if that) but wet/condition my hair daily. your hair is a finer texture, so you may generate more oils...and for that you may want to actually shampoo a little more often...but just dont use something that is super stripping.
In the summers,  since i sweat a lot (or used to, we'll see how this summer goes) i use a little bit of Dr. Bronner's peppermint wash mixed in with the conditioner for some lather and a nice tingly clean, but too much is very drying.

Lee, I co-wash and rarely ever use shampoo anymore. Even when I do use shampoo, it's sulfate free. the forums at Black Hair Media are awesome for advice.

Thanks guys

I am going to start doing it next week, because washing my hair every other day is just not cool with the conditioning wash I can see it sparing the moisture that I lose when I use shampoo.  I just hope it gets all the gunk out
