New Post-op Tip of The Day

I posted this before work this morning but it didn't show up so I will try it again.

Before surgery we would just inhale our meals and didn't taste a thing. I know you know what I'm talking about, the whopper, fries, soda, fried pie and then go home and eat again.  Well now you have the opportunity to actually sit down and enjoy and taste your meals. Eat slowly and chew, chew, chew, did I mention chew, that's very important. Make your meal time special. You may only be able to eat a few bites but savor them and enjoy the flavors now. When you cook season your food differently because the fried foods are out so find another way to season your baked chicken and fish.

Just because you had surgery doesn't mean you can't sit down to a special meal. Break out your good salad plate and use your small utensils and sit down and enjoy your food and love it without having it ruling over you. If you're doing protein shakes then put them in a nice fancy glass and pretend that it's a fancy smoothie. Enjoy this journey because it's totally worth it. Enjoy each step and don't just wait for the end but celebrate each milestone.

I totally agree with the salad plate thing - hell - I am the saucer queen in my house - and will put a tablespoon of this or that and arrange it so cute - and sit down like WHOOOOAAAA NELLY - this gonna be a BIG meal!!!!

my BF still cracks up when I do that...........

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

I do that too #1 MM. I have my grandmother's china so I use that for my meals no matter how simple they may be.
