Update on the "Fractured" Ankle...

Hey Fam,

Well...as you know, after undergoing an MRI 2 weeks ago, my doctor informed me that my ankle had 2 fractures and a torn ligament...put me in a soft cast and a boot.

Today, I went for follow-up and due to an emergency, she was unavailable; however, I saw her colleague.  He takes a look at the MRI and the report and exclaims to me, "You are going to have to have surgery on your ankle..." (shocked the heyll outta me...I was NOT ready for that one!)

He then tells me that he still would like to see a complete set of x-rays on the foot and sends me to his office for the x-rays...I leave my doctor's office, head over to his office...have the x-rays done.  He comes in about half an hour later...steps into the exam room...says: "I have good and great news..."

The great news is - YOU DO NOT HAVE A FRACTURED ANKLE!!! (my mouth dropped!) So you won't need surgery to fix that.  However, you do have a torn ligament and it has been torn for a while...THAT may need surgery.  But, before I do surgery, I want to give you an injection in the foot...come back next week and we will re-evaluate.

So, he gives me the injection and places me in a walking cast (which I have to wear for a while).  Although there are no broken bones, I may still have to have either a scope of the ankle or surgery to repair the torn ligament.

But in the meantime, I'll continue to pray for NO SURGERY AT ALL!

Thanks for your prayers and concern...I appreciate it much!

DD I hope the injection helps you with the pain.  Hopefully a little rest from the stilletos will help you heal up.  Keeping my fingers crossed that you won't need surgery.
