I'm a diabetic and this sounds like me when my blood sugar has dropped too low.  These eposides usually happen to me if I have gone too long without eating or if I exercise to long without a carb source.  It's a miserable feeling.  You can get blood work to have your blood sugar level checked.  The Hemoglobin A1C test will give results for the past 3 months.

In the meantime, carry some of those glucose tablets with you until you find out what's going on.  You can chew up 2 or 3 of those without a lot of additonal calories.

I won't say go see the doctor because I know that you will be making that call

Look up Melting Mama, she posts on the RNY board a lot. She has quite a bit on her blogs and such about reactive hypoglycemia. It can strike some of us bad post-op. I find that I have bouts of it from time to time, but have found that I can usually keep it away by eating even just a little carb/protein combo in between meals, like peanut butter on apples or crackers.

WLS did not resolve low blood sugar.  Eating a lot less that I use to and exercising more will cause me to have low blood sugar without an adequate carb/protein source.  But hey, maybe I'm just strange - LOL!

Just my 2 cents- sounds like hypoglycemia.  I'm sure your Dr will want to get some fasting lab work, but until then carry a snack with you like peanut butter crackers or string cheese.

Take care.

because this was part of my last research paper let me drop this on you.   Take yo azz to the DR.
here is why you need to be absolutely sure ...why

what you eat and how much you eat can affect you.   not enough fluids and sugar and salts.   working out can be too little or too much.   stress, fatigue, too little food...too much food.  It can happen when you are not balanced  something can be missing on one end and something can be too much on the other.

I agree with the hypoglycemia.  I have had this happen and it's very upsetting.  It can be several hours after a meal and just comes out of no where.  I would get the shakes, start sweating, and damn near pass out.  It would take a while to recover.  I started carrying around the diabetic sugar tablets ( really cheap in the CVS they have different flavors) that tosses in just enough sugar to raise your levels so you recover quicker.

I never found out what was causing the problem and thank God it went away.  But as you can see....it can come back.  Get it checked out and also be careful - they can occur anywhere.  I've heard this is very common after WLS.
