Question for the BAFers in TX
I am considering relocating to Texas and need some info from people that live there. I am looking for the best and worst areas to live (need to know which areas to avoid). I am looking for a diverse area with good schools and low crime. I am considering the DFW area and I will be coming down this weekend for a visit. Thanks in advance.
I've been in Texas for almost 5 years now. I live in Arlington, but zone in Mansfield ISD, which is an excellant school district. I'm not sure of other areas, I know Oak Cliff is the hood but there are other areas in Texas that are good to. This is where I happenend to land when I got here and I am very comfortable with my decision. I wish I could show you around but I don't go out of my venue too much. Texas is really a big state. If you have anymore questions, I'll try to help.
I live in Cedar Hill, which is a suburb of Dallas. I lived on the North side of town for 10 years prior to moving to Cedar HIll in 2002. I enjoy the Cedar Hill/ Desoto/ Mansfield areas because you will find us in all ranges of the socio-economic ladder. The school districts rank in the following order: Mansfield, Desoto and then Cedar Hill. Housing is also affordable in the area. I hope the information that I provided helps. Also, there are areas in Oak Cliff that are older and very nice, but I would not reccommend someone new to the area taking that chance.
