Happy Surgiversary to.....
one year ago today, i embarked on my weight loss surgery journey. what a ride it has been!
i'm not going to go into a long dissertation about my journey. those who care to know can read my year long blog. i've made it public for the next couple of days. i know that this time last year i was inspired by reading about the journeys of others.
i started this journey at my highest weight 263 pounds! WHEW!!! today i weigh 174. i still have 14lbs to reach my goal of 160. i know it's do-able...just have to buckle down and do it. i've gone from a size 24 to a solid 12!
newbies, if you are having the lapband surgery, please go into this WELL INFORMED. this surgery takes A LOT of PATIENCE!!! don't expect to lose 150lbs (i'm exaggerating) in 6 months like with malabsorption wls. the band is a great tool IF you work it. i liked the fact that the band kept me on track and *I* was responsible for my weightloss.
