Wootie whoooo! Jazzbabe back from surgery!
Hello my people!
I had a little drama after my initial release from St. Vincent's on March 1 - running like no tomorrow for two days, and a 24 hr. re-admit due to dehydration on March 4th. I was topped off IV, and now I'm back home.
It seems I am now super lactose intolerant, and cannot use whey based protein supplements. I'm now 100% soy, right down to my margarine!
I was drinking soy milk and using soy margarine anyway, so it wasn't that hard to convert.
One of my steri strips got yanked off my incision by my pants waist, so I now have a little gap in an otherwise perfectly flat incision. I hope my doc can fix it during our visit on the 23rd.
Anybody on this board from Indiana..here's a tip: if you have yet to have surgery, go through St. Vincent's in Carmel. The Bariatric Unit staff is excellent, they treat you like royalty during your stay, or in my case, stays. I even had one nurse say to me - "I can see you're going to look like Beyonce when you get through"! Well, if I can be that sexythick...I'm all for it!
I walked a quarter of a mile last night - from one end of a strip mall and home to my apartment.
The strip mall is in front of my apartment complex. It was the first time I was able to walk outside, because it's been raining all day every day since last Friday.
Any other DS newbies out there?
