hey everyone i know i havent been on here in a while its because im really upset one week im told i lost 15 then the very next week i gained three back somehow some way and what do i do when i find that out well i got mad and kinda gave up. i'm like this aint no game.i have to loose fifty pounds before i loose weight and at first it seems easy but its hella hard. like i told my doctor my sister in the car eating wendy's my favorite and i had a protein shake for breakfast and yet i'm the one gaining 3 pounds are you serious. i go see my surgeon this coming saturday and i wanna tell him so bad look i really need this cause if it were not so i would have lost the weight already. anyhow my point is i been back to eating regular food against the doctors orders cause i am mad i feel like i failed already and my family see me giving up and they feel like they have failed me cause they be eating around me all the time which then makes me feel like they dont want to eat around my fat ass. now the protein drinks was not bad at all in fact i did not really feel hungry after drinking them and i do feel real gassy and have lots of bowl movements from eating regular food and i want to stick with the plan the point is im going crazy trying to loose fifty before surgery and the fact that its going up one minute down the next is killing me. not to mention she now says i have high blood pressure something i have never had a problem with

First of all i'd like to say, you are not a failure. It is very hard to just have to lose weight, and then im sure you feel even more pressure because you feel like you have a deadline so you can get the surgery. but whatever you do, dont give up honey, its not easy, im not gonna lie to you, but if you want to change your life, you'll get back on track, and keep going. It gets easier, once you get used to it. And that high blood pressure is no joke, i have it too, i've had my surgery, and its getting better, but i still have it, but its getting better, so keep at it okay?? Dont beat yourself up, hold your head up and be strong!! And add me, cause we have the same surgeon, i love Dr Warnock!! Good luck!!!

First im going to intoroduce myself...im Ashley... glad to see you have reache out to the forum for help.

second im going to tell you that i was in a similar situation, only i had to lose 10 pounds, and do liquids for 2 weeks. It was extremely hard for me and im not going to tell you that i stuck too it 100% because i didn****chin people eat in front of me was hard, but then i got used to it. So when people were eating around me i was fine, but when nobody was watching, i would eat. So when i write these next few comments just know they are from a person who can relate...

Now first you need to stop weighing all the time. The scale does some crazy things. Trust me. Your doctor wants you to do these liquids for a reason. To shrink your liver before surgery (helps them operate better) and it  helps you learn discipline before the surgery because after surgery your going to have to be on a liquid diet and if you cheat on that, thats not gonna be good for you. they also want to see weight loss to see if you are ready for surgery by being committed to losing weight.

stop letting emotions allow you to eat and stop making excuses of why to eat. if your sister eats an entire pizza in front of you, then thats her. YOU have to do what YOUR doc said do so YOU can be healthier. So from personal expierence im telling you now GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME GIRL  because if you dont do it now, your surgery probably wont be as sucessful as it could be. Im telling you this because I WISH someone would have told ths to me.

I say this to you out of love....DO YOU!!!!!!!   Stop making excuses as to why you are not doing what you are supposed to do.  Do you think that the folk around you are going to stop eating all of the foods that you can't have once you have your surgery?  Fear tends to steer us in the direction of failure.  That's self-sabotage!!!!!  You have said so many things in your post that many of us feel or have felt.  I will be honest and tell you that I have not had surgery but I have other life threatening things going on with me and IF I don't take control over what I do then I fail me.  You want to eat out of habit, out of comfort.  You want to eat and it's not only for the taste.  Most of the time we don't really know what food taste like only that we want it.   I'll tell you what happened to me and I have to really look back on it and laugh.....I have been a LOVER of Krispy Kreme's orginal glazed donuts since I can remember (over 30 yrs never had I had a cold KK).  This one particular day I ate a cold donut and it completely turned my stomach.  Yuckkkkkkk.......they must have mixed these up with the cinnamon ones.  Little did I know that they have always had cinnamon in them.......lolllllllll.  I don't think I have had a KK since that day.  I say all that to say this...we have to change our outlook on food and our relationship with it.  KK was comfort for me....a good treat when the hot sign was on, a late night run, something to do, a just because, a because I had money to buy them....you get me.

Girl you have got to make it within yourself that this is for you and no one else.  Do you really want this?  Are you ready to sacrifice your everything?  HBP is a silent killer among us.  Stop looking at that number 50...stick with your plan and you will be there before you know it.  Keep tabs on your eating/excercise.  Get an accountability partner.  You can do this!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you should try a high protein diet.  I did that mixed with slim fast and I was able to lose weight before surgery.

Typical Day:
Br: 2  boiled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon
Sn: South Beach protein bar
Lu: Slim fast and 100 cal popcorn
Sn: Quaker cheddar rice cakes
Di: Homemade tuna salad w/ fat free crackers

As it get closer breakfast was just a slim fast.

Drink LOTS OF WATER and chew sugar free gum.  The water helps u feel full and the gum gives your mouth something to do.  I also cut out all pop and juice.  I like wylers light and hawaiin punch light.

Hang in there! Hope that helps you some!

Hi,
I didn't have 50 lbs to go, but like others I had to fast for 10 days and that was one of the hardest thing I ever had to do. But heres what really worked. I bet if you try this it will be much better.

I enlisted 3 co workers and 5 really close friends.  I asked them to fast with me for one week.  So they became my aliies. Everyday we talked, texted and I sent an email to the entire group everyday to my "fasting angels". We did a count down, and I kept it funny, called out those in humor ; that cheated, ate in front of me, and before you know it we all shared every day.  As I counted down it became easier and I reminded myself everyday why I was doing this.

I also needed prayer, but you have to know this is one of the most important things you'll ever do for YOURSELF.  Just enlist some kind of help. Or you will resent everyone around you, that's eating etc.
God Bless,
cc
