Happy hunting!

I bought my laptop almost a year ago.  It's a Toshiba 17" monitor with the numeric keypad on the side (a must have for me).  Intel Pentium Processor .  It burns dvds and cds and u can also play dvds on it.  I paid 699.00 for it @ best buy.   Circuit city had the same computer but wanted a hundred dollars more.  It also has a webcam on the monitor; and it's 3.0 gigs of ram!  I really like it; scared to take it and hook it up outside of home...don't want a virus.

but expain the RAM and all, that jazz if you will...that's where I get confusiated.  I know all the terminology, but I seriously have no clue how to make decisions on what I need.  That's what I want to understand.  I'm loving the built in webcam feature.  Don't know what the hell I'm gonna do with it, but I'll probably get that just cause I can.

If you do a lot of downloading and don't use a back up disk; you want a computer that has a lot of storage and memory and is also fast in speed.  Me personally didn't care how much memory or space the computer has; it had to have other features.

RAM is what allows you to multi-task.  You can have 4 or 5 windows open at the same time and do all kinds of stuff simultaneously and nothing will run slow.  Its like instead of having two arms, you got 4 or 5 arms.

Memory is what allows you to hold music & video & picture files.  Think of it was a closet for your electronic stuff.

Macs are awesome! I have a MacBook and iMac and they're easy to use and last long. Also I can't beat going into an Apple store to get them serviced. No annoying customer service outsourced to India. Best of all it isn't windows.

well guess that will be me since I troubleshoot & fix computers daily I have a Mac book Which is the best thing to me and a Dell laptop. Everyone have different needs, what you can do so I won't get to technical you can go here and do your research and see which laptop fits you. Hope this helps out.

I just switched from pcs to a Mac and i love it..I do not think i will ever go back to PC.  However if i was to get another pc it would be Toshiba. Everyone who i know with that brand loves it. I seriously haven't heard a complaint about it.

Do not..and i repeat DO NOT...get Acer...it is a piece of **** I got one had it a little over a year and sent it back 3 times..(and the damn thing is still under 2 years old)  I go so freaking tired of it...i went out and bought my Mac.  That wasnt the only reason i brought my Mac..but it sure did speed up the process.
