Ok - I am working on planning my revision plastics for later this year - it's a big investment but it's something I know I need to do for me.

As you know - the first time around was not what it should have been so I am fearful about how to approach it this time.  So far, I have gone back to the first doc i was intending to have my first surgery done with and now I have a consult scheduled with another one that is a referral from someone who had WLS and work done by him.  I am also thinking of going to another consult with Dr. Lo - I consulted with him before but didn't go with him because he was out of network for my insurance.......

So - my question is - HOW in the HELL do I choose THIS time?  I know.... RESEARCH - but hell - i THOUGHT I did that LAST time...... and pray on it is automatic - did that last time too.

so..... any ideas???

ETA: for those who DON'T already know........

I went through the process of having a TT done last June - my insurance was going to cover the med necc part and I paid 5K for the TT upgrade.  Jacklegg azz surgeon took my upgrade money, only did the med necc part and never submitted the claim to insurance - AND he did a half azz job on what he DID do - so I have a lot of skin and mass hanging above my bikini cut incision line.  I have to get a anchor cut TT at this point to address it and insurance will cover NONE of that.

Could you give us Newbies a little background info?  What'd you have done, how long ago, and what went wrong?

Thanks MM!

I would say go to all the consults weigh the pros and cons of each.  Ask to see before and after pics and if you could actually speak with a couple of their previous patients.

May I ask what happened with the first TT.  You can tell me if I'm being too nosy.

Trina,

I wish I could help you but I had an experience myself.  When you are traumatized, it can be difficult for the next time.  I wanted to have my breast looked at but as result a of the pain/trauma I felt last March from getting my TT fix, I will not get any surgeries done unless it is a medical necessity.  I just pray that you make the right decision.

Do you have a teaching hospital near you? I decided on the Chief of PS at UMMC...that dude teaches all the other mofos how to do PS I also felt he was "right" upon my consult...you know how you just "know" some things....yeah I just knew he was the one for me.

Here's the thing...he doesn't rely on what insurance pays...he's paid by the University. So, he was not worried about $$$$ (he gets paid regardless)  he only wanted to give me the BEST results period. Bottom line...he did more than my health insurance paid for..he did a full abdominoplasty with muscle tightening becasue he knew that was what I needed PERIOD. I expected a physical improvement but I was surprised at the asthetic results that he gave me....my tummy is flat and tight as a drum! My scar has faded nicely and I'm more than happy with the results he gave me.

My doc now uses my before/after pics in his lectures and I have also referred several patients to him. It's nice to know he cares about his results and doesn't focus on money part of it!

Good question - cause he's in Dallas, I'm in Houston and travel AND recover would be difficult to coordinate.
