Things they don't mention before surgery
So I have 25 days left until surgery!!
I have read all the materials that the Bariatric Center gave me and I'm making a list of things to buy (robe for the hospital, my comfy pillows etc) and I wanted to get an idea of things that you wish you would have thought to buy or do that would have made your hospital stay and recovery time at home better. Like things that you say in retrospect you wish you would have thought of. I generally have a high tolerance for pain so I'm not too worried about that but I am scared as heck about having to stay in the hospital for 3 nights...did anyone have an issue with that?
I'm just here to get others experiences...so I can see if I cam missing anything on my list!

Congrats on your surgery. All that stuff they tell you; you will need YOU DON'T!! You need a robe, possibly a pillow, a change of underwear, slippers, flip flops for the shower; a change of comfy clothes to go home in; if you don't wear what you came in, chap stick and gas x (these two are the most important).
Girl I had magazines, books, all types of crap thinking that I was staying in a hotel. I was sleep the whole time I was in the hospital.

I was just like Nikki! I brought all of this stuff to the hospital with me and the only things that I used were my toiletries ( I tossed my travel case in my bag on my way out the door), chap stick and underwear. I will say that I was really happy I brought the underwear though because I work on the same floor that the recovery is on and it was bad enough for my coworkers to see part of me naked, I at least wanted to keep part of my dignity. Other than that, I promise you that you will sleep for nearly the whole time and not care about doing anything else.
You will see that pretty quick. That's the first part of the body (for most) that you can REALLY tell the weight loss. I think it only took a week or two for people to notice the WL in my face.
And just wait till you see your collar bones! Girl, that is a beautiful thang!
